The wait was enormous, the expectations met: the numbered seats in the auditorium of the "Parentucelli" were exhausted in no time, the faithful filled the adjacent gym and the church of San Francesco where two giant screens had been set up. Over 1500 people arrived from the provinces of Spezia and Massa to listen to the story of Ivanka and her message of faith.
Before starting the conference, the Croatian visionary met Filippo, a 5 year old boy from Ceparana suffering from spinal atrophy (a disease that inhibits all movements) brought to Sarzana by his parents Valeria and Carlo. Inside, in the auditorium, many disabled, elderly, "great sinners" as Roberto calls himself, 63-year-old from La Spezia "with a past of drugs and prison". "A group of friends took me to Lourdes - he says - and I was reborn there". Close to him Giulio, returning from a trip to Medjugorje where he met another visionary, Viska.
In religious silence, after the rosary recited all together, they listened to Ivanka who, initially helped by an interpreter, recounted her life from the first appearance of the Madonna on the mountains of Medjugorje together with her friend Miriana, to the problems born immediately after telling what it had happened to her. "The adults - he said - threw apples at me, they did not believe in the history show as well as doctors, psychologists and policemen. On the night of the first apparition I will never forget it: I did not understand if what happened was reality or if I was mad. " All true instead, like the daily apparitions until 1985 when "Our Lady told me that she would appear to me every year on June 25th: for years I asked myself why she chose me". The final part of the story, made by Ivanka in Italian, is particularly touching.

Ivanka arrived in Sarzana a few days after the arrival in Medjugorje of Cardinal Christoph Schonborn, the first eminence to celebrate mass in the Croatian town and to express himself clearly in favor of the visionaries.
