The real prayer. From the writings of Saint John of God

An act of perfect love of God immediately completes the mystery of the union of the soul with God. This soul, even if guilty of the greatest and most numerous faults, with this act immediately conquers the grace of God with the condition of the subsequent confession sacramental. The act of love of God is the simplest, easiest, shortest action that can be done. Just say simply: "My God, I love you".

It is very easy to perform an act of love of God. It can be done at any time, in any circumstance, in the midst of work, in the crowd, in any environment, in a moment. God is always present, listening, lovingly waiting to grasp this expression of love from the heart of his creature.

The act of love is not an act of feeling: it is an act of will, elevated infinitely above sensitivity and is also imperceptible to the senses. It is enough for the soul to say with simplicity of heart: "My God, I love you".

The soul can perform its act of love of God with three degrees of perfection. This act is the most effective way to convert sinners, to save the dying, to free souls from purgatory, to uplift the afflicted, to help priests, to be useful to souls and to the church.

An act of love of God increases the external glory of God himself, of the Blessed Virgin and of all the Saints of Paradise, gives relief to all the souls of Purgatory, obtains an increase in grace to all the faithful of the earth, restrains evil power of hell over creatures. The act of love of God is the most powerful way to avoid sin, to overcome temptations, to acquire all virtues and deserve all graces.

The smallest act of perfect love of God has more efficacy, more merit and more importance than all good works put together.

Proposals to concretely implement the act of love of God:

1. Willingness to suffer every pain and even death rather than gravely offending the Lord: "My God, rather die than commit a mortal sin"

2. Willingness to suffer every pain, even death rather than consenting to a venial sin: "My God, rather die than offend you even slightly."

3. Willingness to always choose what is most pleasing to the Good God: "My God, since I love you, I only want what You want".

Each of these three degrees contains a perfect act of love of God. The simpler and darker soul, who does more acts of love of God, is much more useful to souls and to the Church than those who perform grandiose actions with less love.

THE ACT OF LOVE: "JESUS, MARY I LOVE YOU, SAVE SOULS"
(From "The Heart of Jesus in the world" by P. Lorenzo Sales. Vatican publisher)

Promises of Jesus for every act of love:

"Your every act of love remains forever ...

Every "JESUS I LOVE YOU" draws ME into your heart ...

Your every act of love repairs a thousand blasphemies ...

Your every act of love is a soul that saves itself because I am thirsty for your love and for your act of love I would create heaven.

The act of Love maximizes every moment of this earthly life, making you observe the First and Maximum Commandment: LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, WITH ALL YOUR MIND, WITH ALL YOUR FORCES . "
