The truth of Pope John Paul II about Medjugorje

It is no secret: Pope John Paul II loved Medjugorje, although he was never able to visit it because its worship had not been authorized. In 1989 he pronounced these words: "Today's world has lost the sense of the supernatural, but many seek it and find it in Medjugorje, thanks to prayer, penance, and fasting". His love for Medjugorje is also testified by the frequent relationships he had with the visionaries, priests, and bishops of the area.

It is said that one day, during his usual blessings in the crowd, he unknowingly blessed Mirjana Dravicevic Soldo. Informed by a priest that she was a visionary from Medjugorje, she went back, blessed her again, and invited her to Castelgandolfo. He also met Vicka personally, releasing her an official blessing. And even Jozo was able to frame the Pope's written blessing.

Meeting a group of Croatian faithful, Pope Wojtyla immediately recognized and entertained himself with Jelena and Marijana, two younger visionaries and much less known because they received only inner locutions. He recognized them from the photos he had seen, testimony to the fact that the Pope was very well informed about the events of Medjugorje.

To the Bishops who asked for his opinion about any pilgrimages to Medjugorje, the Pope always responded with great enthusiasm, often stressing that Medjugorje is "the spiritual center of the world", that the messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje were not in contrast with the Gospel, and that the amount of conversions that took place there could only be a positive factor.
