Our Lady, Spouse of the Holy Spirit, often speaks of it in her massages in Medjugorje, especially in conjunction with the feast of Pentecost, but not only. He talks about it a lot especially in the early years, in those messages given sporadically (before starting to give them every Thursday); messages often not reported in the most popular books and which have fallen into oblivion. At first he invites us to fast on bread and water on Friday, then he adds Wednesday and explains the reason: "in honor of the Holy Spirit" (9.9.'82).

Invites us to invoke the Holy Spirit every day frequently with prayers and songs, in particular by reciting the Veni Creator Spiritus or the Veni Sancte Spiritus. Remember, Our Lady, that it is important to pray to the Holy Spirit before the Holy Mass so that he helps us to enter the depth of the mystery we live (26.11.'83). In 1983, just before the feast of All Saints, Our Lady says in a message: “People are wrong when they turn only to the saints to ask for something. The important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit to come upon you. Having it, you have it all ”. (21.10.'83) And always in the same year, he gives us this short but beautiful message: “Begin to invoke the Holy Spirit every day. The most important thing is to pray to the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit descends on you, then everything changes and becomes clear to you ”. (25.11.'83). On February 25, 1982, responding to a request from a seer, she gives the following very interesting message, in line with the documents of the Second Vatican Council: to a seer who asks her if all religions are good, Our Lady replies: "In all religions there is good, but it is not the same thing as professing one religion or another. The Holy Spirit does not act with equal power in all religious communities. "

Our Lady often asks us to pray with the heart, not simply with the lips, and the Holy Spirit can lead us to this depth of prayer; we must ask him for this gift. On 2 May 1983 he exhorts us as follows: “One does not live only on work, but also on prayer. Your jobs won't go well without prayer. Offer your time to God! Abandon yourself to him! Let yourself be guided by the Holy Spirit! And then you will see that your work will go better and you will also have more free time ”.

We now report the most important messages given in preparation for the feast of Pentecost, a feast for which Our Lady asks to be prepared with particular care, living the novena in prayer and penance to open hearts to welcome the Gift of the Spirit. The messages given in 1984 were particularly intense; on May 25 in an extraordinary message he says: “I strongly desire that on the day of Pentecost you will be pure to receive the Holy Spirit. Pray that your heart has changed on that day ”. And on June 2 of the same year: “Dear children, this evening I want to tell you that - during this novena (of Pentecost) - pray for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on your families and on your parish. Pray, you will not regret it! God will give you gifts, with which you will glorify him until the end of your earthly life. Thank you for having responded to my call! ”And seven days later an invitation and a sweet reproach? Dear children, tomorrow evening (on the feast of Pentecost) pray for the Spirit of truth. Especially you of the parish because you need the Spirit of truth, so that you can transmit the messages as they are, not adding or removing anything: just as I have given them. Pray for the Holy Spirit to inspire you with the spirit of prayer, to pray more. I, who am your Mother, I realize that you pray little ”. (9.6.'84)

The following year, here is the message of May 23: “Dear children, in these days I especially invite you to open your hearts to the Holy Spirit (it was in the Novena of Pentecost). The Holy Spirit, particularly in these days, works through you. Open your heart and abandon your life to Jesus, so that he works through your hearts and strengthens you in the faith ”.

And in 1990, again on May 25, our Heavenly Mother exhorts us: “Dear children, I invite you to decide to live this novena (of Pentecost) seriously. Devote time to prayer and sacrifice. I am with you and I want to help you, so that you grow in renunciation and mortification in order to understand the beauty of the life of those people who give themselves to me in a special way. Dear children, God blesses you day by day and wishes your life to change. So pray for the strength to change your life. Thank you for having responded to my call! "

And on May 25, 1993 he says: “Dear children, today I invite you to open yourselves to God through prayer: may the Holy Spirit in you and through you begin to work miracles”. We end with this beautiful prayer dictated by Jesus himself to Mother Carolina Venturella, a Canossian nun, apostle of the Holy Spirit, better known as "the poor soul".
