Lourdes: healed thanks to the spring water

Henri BUSQUET. The teenager recovered from a source of water from his source at his home… Born in 1842, residing in Nay (France). Disease: Fistolized (definitely tuberculous) adenitis at the base of the neck, for 15 months. Healed in late April 1858, aged 16. Miracle recognized on 18 January 1862 by Mons. Laurence, bishop of Tarbes. Henri is 16 years old. He can no longer bear his suffering. He then asks to be taken to Lourdes and his parents refuse. Thanks to a neighbor, she gets some water from the Grotto… The living ordeal started with a fever, qualified as typhoid, but which rather marks the first affection of tuberculosis. Then an abscess in the neck appeared posthumously, which, untreated, hit the chest. After his stay in Cauterets, where the lesion increases, at the beginning of 1858 a huge ulcer forms that suppurates the base of the neck, with no tendency to improve. On April 28, 1858 in the evening, the whole family of the patient goes to prayer and the young man receives a compress soaked in the water from the cave. After a calm night, the ulcer appears scarred, the infection has vanished, the other ganglia have disappeared. No recurrence will ever be found on this immediate recovery.

PRAYER to the MADONNA of LOURDES

Maria, you appeared to Bernadette in the crevice of this rock. In the cold and dark of winter, you made you feel the warmth of a presence, the light and beauty.

In the wounds and darkness of our lives, in the divisions of the world where evil is powerful, it brings hope and restores confidence!

You who are the Immaculate Conception, come to the aid of us sinners. Give us the humility of conversion, the courage of penance. Teach us to pray for all men.

Guide us to the sources of true Life. Make us pilgrims on the journey within your Church. Satisfy in us the hunger of the Eucharist, the bread of the journey, the bread of Life.

In you, O Mary, the Holy Spirit has done great things: in his power, he has brought you to the Father, in the glory of your Son, living forever. Look with love as a mother at the miseries of our body and heart. Shine like a bright star for everyone at the moment of death.

With Bernadette, we pray to you, O Mary, with the simplicity of the children. Put in your mind the spirit of the Beatitudes. Then we can, from down here, know the joy of the Kingdom and sing with you: Magnificat!

Glory to you, O Virgin Mary, blessed servant of the Lord, Mother of God, Temple of the Holy Spirit!

O august Queen of Paradise, who in heavenly attitude and with the Crown on her arm, as a great demonstration of love and mercy for men, you deigned to appear to the lucky Bernadette to spread the graces of your goodness on the world:

we greet you and rejoice at the excellent privilege of your Immaculate Conception with which it pleased the Lord to rise above all creatures, constituting you his most pure Mother.

Deh! Be our Mother too, and in the midst of the enticements of the world and the senses, let us keep our hearts pure from guilt by taking as our weapon that rosary, which you point out as a means of keeping us your worthy children.
