Lourdes: disfigured, she suddenly finds her true face again

Johanna BÉZENAC. Disfigured, she suddenly regains her true face ... Born Dubos, in 1876, residing in Saint Laurent des Bâtons (France). Disease: Cachexia from unknown cause, impetigo in the eyelids and forehead. Healed on August 8, 1904, at 28 years old. Miracle recognized on July 2, 1908 by Mons. Henri J. Bougoin, bishop of Perigueux. In recent months, Johanna no longer dares to show herself. A skin infection corrodes her face every day more. But this disease that takes her now to the root of her hair is only the most obvious manifestation ... It all began, in fact, in joy: the birth of a child. But following a long and exhausting breastfeeding period, Johanna was struck, in March 1901, by severe pneumonia which effectively masked the appearance of tuberculosis. The treatments prove ineffective. Subsequently, the situation worsened again, in particular for this skin infection that affects her in her dignity as a woman. Having come to Lourdes with the diocesan pilgrimage, she apparently healed again. The Bureau of Medical Findings has a short story about this healing. Johanna is said to have recovered in two days, 8 and 9 August 1904 and that this healing is linked to the spring water, used both for the bath and as a lotion. On October 4, 1904, or 2 months after his pilgrimage, the attending physician ascertained, following a scrupulous examination, "the absolute recovery of the general and local state".
