Troubled mother of 2 overwhelmed by the kindness of a stranger

This is the story of a woman, Frances Jay, but it could be the story of many people in difficulty. This story is about kindness, about a normal gesture that nowadays seems to be almost a miracle. In a world of the invisible, of people who can't even feed themselves anymore, some gestures warm the heart.

Francesca

On a day like any other, Francesca Jay, mother of two sons, was struggling with her daily shopping and with a limited balance to spend: £50. That day Francesca had brought with her little William, 4 years old and Sophie 7 years old.

When it came time to pay, Francesca realized that as the tape was running, the balance was too high. So she decided to renounce apart from the shopping, which also included popsicles for little William and Sophie.

A stranger offers to pay for the groceries

When the children's mother told them to put the rest of the groceries and popsicles back, one woman looked at the children's faces and saw the smile disappear.

So, the kind unknown, she offered to pay for the popsicles and the rest of the shopping, the one that Francesca should have left in the supermarket.

Even the cashiers, not used to such kindness, were pleasantly surprised. Francesca before that, when she wasn't in financial difficulty, she had paid for other people in difficulty over and over again. For her this gesture had a double value, because it showed her that if you have been kind in life, sooner or later kindness will come back for you too.

La kindness, like altruism and empathy should be contagious, and if we all learned every day to give a smile or to reach out to those in difficulty, the world would be a better place.
