MOTHER OF SINS
On Mount Calvary he was agonizing Jesus, the Son of God. His sufferings were atrocious. To the physical penalties were added the moral ones: the ingratitude of the beneficiaries, the unbelief of the Jews, the insults of the Roman soldiers ...
Mary, Mother of Jesus, stood at the foot of the cross and watched; he did not rail against the executioners, but prayed for them, combining his prayer with that of the Son: Father, forgive them because they do not know what they are doing! -
Every day the scene of Calvary is repeated mystically. Jesus Christ is the target of human wickedness; sinners seem to compete to destroy or diminish the work of the Redemption. How many blasphemies and insults to the Divinity! How many and what scandals!
The great host of sinners runs towards eternal damnation. Who can tear these souls out of Satan's claws? Only the Mercy of God, implored by Our Lady.
Mary is the refuge of sinners, she is the Mother of mercy!
As one day he prayed on Calvary for the crucifixors, so now he prays incessantly for the traviati.
If a mother has a gravely sick child, she turns all her care to him to snatch him from death; so and even more does Our Lady for those ungrateful children who live in sin and are in danger of eternal death.
In 1917 the Virgin appeared to Fatima in three children; opening his hands, a beam of light gushed out, which seemed to penetrate the earth. The children then saw at the feet of the Madonna as a great sea of fire and immersed in it, black and tanned, demons and souls in human form, resembling transparent embers, which dragged upwards by the flames, then fell down like sparks in the great fires , amid cries of despair that horrified.
The visionaries, at this scene, raised their eyes to the Madonna to ask for help and the Virgin added: This is hell, where the souls of poor sinners end up. Recite the Rosary and add to each post: My Jesus, forgive our sins! Preserve us from the fire of hell and bring all souls to Heaven, especially those most in need of your mercy! -
Furthermore, Our Lady recommended to offer sacrifices for the conversion of sinners and to repeat the invocation: «Immaculate Heart of Mary, convert sinners! »
Every day there are souls who return to God with a true conversion; the Angels in Heaven celebrate when a sinner is converted, but the Madonna, Mother of repentant sinners, rejoices immensely more.
We cooperate in the repentance of the traviati; we care more about the conversion of someone from our family. We pray to Our Lady every day, especially in the Holy Rosary, drawing attention to the words: "Pray for us sinners! ... "
EXAMPLE
Saint Gemma Galgani enjoyed the predilections of Jesus. Her great daily sufferings saved the souls and she was happy to present the sinners to her Heavenly Bridegroom, of which she became aware.
The conversion of a soul was dear to her. To this end he prayed, and entreated Jesus to give light and strength to the sinner; but he did not recover.
One day, while Jesus had appeared to her, he said to him: You, O Lord, love sinners; so convert them! You know how much I prayed for that soul! Why don't you call her?
- I will convert this sinner, but not immediately.
- And I beg you not to delay. - My daughter, you will be satisfied, but not now.
- Well, since you do not want to do this grace soon, I turn to your Mother, to the Virgin, and you will see that the sinner will be converted.
- This I was waiting for you to interpose Our Lady and, since my Mother intercedes, that soul will have so much grace that she will immediately detest sin and be admitted to my friendship.
