Sick of Covid, she wakes up from a coma when they were disconnecting her from the fan

Is called Bettina Lermann, got sick of Covid-19 in September and was in a coma for about two months. The doctors were unable to wake her up and, believing that there was no more hope, her relatives decided to disconnect the ventilator that was keeping her alive. But on the same day that the respirator had to be removed, Betina suddenly woke up.

His son, Andrew Lerman, she told CNN that since her mother wasn't responding to medical efforts to wake her, they'd already thought that the prognosis was irreversible. So, they had decided to remove her life support and started organizing her funeral.

However, something unexpected happened. The day Bettina's respirator needed to be removed, the doctor called Andrew. "He said to me, 'Well, I need you to come here right away.' 'OK, what's up?' . 'Your mother has woken up' ".

The news shocked Bettina's son so much that he dropped the phone.

Andrew commented that his mother, who will turn 70 in February 2022, had several health problems. She is diabetic, has had a heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery.

Bettina was infected with Covid-19 in September, she did not get vaccinated but she intended to, but then she got sick. The clinical picture was complicated: it was admitted to intensive care and attached to a respirator, ending up in a coma.

“We had a family reunion with the hospital because my mom wasn't waking up. The doctors told us that his lungs were completely destroyed. There was irreversible damage ”.

But God had other plans and Bettina woke up from a coma. It's been three weeks since then and she is still in serious condition but she can move her hands and arms and breathe on her own for a few hours straight with some oxygen.

Andrew said that his mother has not suffered from organ failure and does not know why she is improving: “My mother is very religious and so are many of her friends. Everyone prayed for her. So they can't explain it from a medical point of view. Perhaps the explanation lies in religion. I am not religious but I am beginning to believe that something or someone has helped her ”.
