Marija of Medjugorje: I tell you what Our Lady asks to do

Livio: It is already the third time in a row that Our Lady strongly invites us to recite the Rosary. Does that mean anything special?

Marija: I don't know, but I see in this message a beautiful thing: Our Lady wants the Rosary to become part of our life. He says: "... you too go through your joys and sorrows in your life", as it was for Peter, who, certainly helped by the Holy Spirit, changed his life with a new heart. Our Lady wants to change us too, our hearts, she wants us to experience the faith and love of God through her presence.

P. Livio: Yes, I was very impressed by this invitation from Our Lady to transform the mysteries of the Rosary into our life, precisely because the Rosary tells us the mysteries of the life of Jesus, it is the manifestation of her mission, of her work of salvation. So we in the Rosary somehow relive the life of Jesus in our life.

Marija: That's right. I think Our Lady is leading us to understand that our life is in God. If we are with God, our life makes sense. Without God it doesn't make sense because we would be like a leaf detached from the plant.

P. Livio: Our Lady has always invited us to recite the Rosary, but this time she stresses that we must meditate on the mysteries. While reciting the ten do we have to meditate on the mystery?

Marija: Our Lady says: with love and with the heart. Our Lady wants the Rosary to become our life: not to recite, but to live…. It struck me that he said "like Peter". When we experience the love of God, we follow the most important thing. He left his boat, his job as a fisherman, he left his home, his family to follow Jesus. Perhaps Our Lady does not ask us to leave everything, but she certainly asks us to give more testimony. Today we Christians are lukewarm. Our Lady wants us to become more radical, more determined.

P. Livio: I was very struck by the expression "your life is a mystery until you put it in the hands of God". That is, without faith our life is inexplicable, it is full of questions to which we cannot answer. Instead thanks to faith we understand why we are in the world, that we come from God and return to God.

Marija: Exactly, because with God we have the meaning of our life, of our passage on this earth. Our daily life, the sacrifices, the joys, the pains, make sense if we combine them with the life of Jesus, with his pains. Who does not believe, I think he has a desperate and poor life.

P. Livio: It is the first time that the Madonna in her messages names Peter. Speaking of the experience of faith like Peter, perhaps it alludes to the moment when Jesus called these fishermen making them fishermen of men or to the moment when Peter made his profession of faith saying: “You are the Christ, the Son of God living"?

Marija: I don't know. Certainly the word of Jesus immediately touched his heart. As we have the experience of the presence of the Madonna who makes us live incredible things. Also in these days a family has arrived, husband and wife. They told me that a 300 kg tree fell on his head, which completely unraveled his skull, completely crushed. He was dead, there was nothing to do. But they prayed and asked for a miracle from the Queen of Peace. Now he has come to Medjugorje with his family to thank Our Lady. It is a living miracle! A tree has come to him on the head, to others the conversion comes to the heart. They say, “What has my life been like so far? But today I have the opportunity that, thanks to the presence of the Madonna, I can start a new life in holiness, in the love of God, in the love of the Madonna and of all the saints and with the hope of Heaven ". Our Lady said: "Without God you have neither future nor eternal life".

P. Livio: It struck me that Our Lady says in practice that her daily apparitions are not only his coming among us, they are not only his presence; he says: "God envelops you with my presence". It's a beautiful expression! Our Lady radiates this presence of light with her maternal love on all the earth, on all hearts, on all humanity. It is much more than saying that the Madonna appears.

Marija: Yes, it's a new and beautiful expression. Re-reading the message, I felt like a child in the arms of the Madonna, with the certainty that a child feels in the arms of the mother. I think there is nothing more beautiful than feeling loved, feeling embraced and enveloped by the love of the Madonna. Like when a person in love feels safe because there is someone who protects them. So we, when we know that Our Lady is with us and protects us under her mantle with her love, we can only rejoice with pride.

P. Livio: In the message there is the word faith twice: "So you will have the experience of faith like Peter" and in the end "... be open and pray with the heart in faith". Our Lady asks us to witness today the light of faith in a time in which there is a lot of unbelief and many live without God, without hope, without the light that illuminates life.

Marija: This is why Our Lady wants to help us. We have experience of this light and joy of life thanks to its presence and we must transmit it to others. Many people who arrive in Medjugorje even for the first time, feel in a special way called, chosen and favorite. Our Lady is preparing with them a new world that loves God, who loves prayer, who loves to live in faith. He also loves to testify because whoever discovered love then becomes a witness. Our Lady calls us to this.

P. Livio: What must we do to "put life in the hands of God" as Our Lady asks us?

Marija: Our Lady says to pray, to open the heart. Whenever we decide for prayer and get on our knees, we make an act of faith…. Thus we live the Commandments of God and go to adoration ... When we are before the Blessed Sacrament, we feel that God with his presence radiates that positivity, that joy, that perfume of eternity.

P. Livio: Now that the month of October is coming I ask you to remind us how many times Our Lady recommended the Rosary to us in the family.

Marija: Many times. From the beginning he told us that the first prayer group should be the family. Then the parish. Our Lady asks us to testify, but if we do not have experience of prayer, we cannot testify; but if we decide, we will have this experience ... How many people in the moment of pain have approached faith! Their lives have changed. Like us when the Madonna appeared, we did not know what to do. We prayed the Rosary to thank you. It is a simple, beautiful prayer, at the same time profound, ancient but always modern ... It is a concrete prayer where we contemplate the life of Jesus. I say that a Christian if he is a Marian is a sensitive Christian, who loves, positive, who it is not acidic. He has the Madonna beside him. He has Our Lady in his heart, he has his tenderness and his love ... Our Lady has begun to lead the parish of Medjugorje; then to give the messages that continued to give them because people responded with great enthusiasm, joy and faith. In fact, Our Lady said that she had appeared here because she had found the faith still alive ...

P. Livio: With everything that happens in the world, is Our Lady always serene or is she sometimes serious? You once saw her cry.

Marija: Not once, but several times. Sometimes she is worried and tells us to pray for her intentions to help us. Tonight was clear.

P. Livio: On 17/9 Our Lady gave Ivan a message similar to the one you received on 25/10/2008. There is a difference: what he gave to you says that satan puts himself in the place of God; in what she gave to Ivan on 17/9 she says that in the plan of satan it is humanity that puts itself in the place of God. Our Lady had never given Ivan such messages. Do you know why?

Marija: I think it was because he was in Italy ... Some say that the messages are the same, that they are repetitive. Our Lady is a mother who encourages, as a mother does with her child: "go ahead, go, walk"

… Last week I was in the St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna in prayer from 16 p.m. until 23 p.m. with Cardinal Schönborn. Nobody went out. What a joy! The joy of being together, all beautiful, all positive, with Jesus in our midst. The Cardinal with the Blessed Sacrament went from corner to corner of the great cathedral, crowded with a flood of people. I thank the Lord for this Cardinal who embraced the message of Our Lady with love ...
