Meditation of May 25 "The Easter Hallelujah"

The meditation of our present life must take place in the praise of the Lord, because the eternal happiness of our future life will consist in the praise of God; and no one will be fit for future life if he has not prepared now. So let's praise God now, but also raise our petition to him. Our praise holds joy, our supplication holds moan. In fact we have been promised what we do not currently own; and since he who promised is true, we rejoice in hope, even if, not yet possessing what we desire, our desire appears as a moan. It is fruitful for us to persevere in desire until what has been promised reaches us and so the groan passes and only praise takes its place. The history of our destiny has two phases: one that now passes in the midst of the temptations and tribulations of this life, the other that will be in security and eternal joy. For this reason, the celebration of the two times has been established for us, that is, the one before Easter and the one after Easter. The time before Easter depicts the tribulation in which we find ourselves; instead what follows Easter represents the bliss we will enjoy. What we celebrate before Easter is also what we do. What we celebrate after Easter indicates what we do not yet have. This is why we spend the first half in fasting and prayers. The other, however, after the end of fasts we celebrate him in praise. That's why we sing: hallelujah.
In fact, in Christ, our head, it is depicted and manifested both times. The passion of the Lord presents us with the present life with its aspect of fatigue, of tribulation and with the certain prospect of death. Instead the resurrection and glorification of the Lord are an announcement of the life that will be given to us.
For this reason, brothers, we urge you to praise God; and this is what we all say to ourselves when we proclaim: alleluia. Praise the Lord, you say to another. And the other replies to you the same thing.
Commit yourselves to praise with your whole being: that is, not only your language and your voice praise God, but also your conscience, your life, your actions.
We praise the Lord in church when we gather. At the moment when everyone returns to their occupations, they almost cease to praise God. On the other hand, one must not stop living well and always praising God. Be careful not to praise God when you move away from justice and what he likes. In fact, if you never move away from honest life, your tongue is silent, but your life cries out and the ear of God is close to your heart. Our ears hear our voices, the ears of God open to our thoughts.
