Today's meditation: Donated to us by God, the source of goodness itself

The annual commemoration of Saint Agatha has gathered us here to honor a martyr, who is so ancient, but also of today. Indeed, it seems that even today she wins her battle because every day she is crowned and decorated with manifestations of divine grace.
Sant'Agata was born from the Word of the immortal God and from her only Son, who died as a man for us. In fact, St John says: "To those who welcomed him he gave the power to become children of God" (Jn 1:12).
Agata, our saint, who invited us to the religious banquet, is the bride of Christ. It is the virgin who has purpleed her lips with the blood of the Lamb and nourished her spirit by meditating on the death of her divine lover.
The saint's stole bears the colors of Christ's blood, but also those of virginity. That of Saint Agatha thus becomes a testimony of inexhaustible eloquence for all subsequent generations.
Saint Agatha is truly good, because being of God, she is on the side of her Spouse to make us partakers of that good, of which her name bears the value and meaning: Agata (that is good) given to us as a gift by herself. source of goodness, God.
Indeed, what is more beneficial than the highest good? And who could find something worthy of being more celebrated with praise of good? Now Agata means "Good". His goodness matches the name and reality so well. Agata, who for her magnificent deeds bears a glorious name and in the same name shows us the glorious deeds she performed. Agata, even attracts us with her own name, so that everyone willingly goes to meet her and is teaching with her example, so that all, without ceasing, compete with each other to achieve the true good, which is God alone.
