Medjugorje: the need for prayer groups wanted by Our Lady
MADONNA'S MESSAGES ON PRAYER
Many books have been written on the events, miracles and messages of Medjugorje and on the extraordinary continuous flow of hundreds and thousands of pilgrims who come from all over the world, arriving in fleets annually in Medjugorje. It is not our intention to dwell on these facts, but to focus on an important aspect of Our Lady's exhortations to Medjugorje - prayer in general and prayer groups in particular.
The appeal of the Virgin to prayer does not come to us from Medjugorje only:
* Our Lady of Fatima said, "Pray the Rosary every day to get world peace."
* Our Lady of San Damiano, in Italy, said, “Recite your prayers and the Holy Rosary, which is such a powerful weapon, my children. Say the Rosary and abandon all other works that have no value. The most important thing is to save the world. " (June 2, 1967)
* Our Lady in Medjugorje said, “Dear children, have mercy on me. Pray, pray, pray! " (April 19, 1984)
* "Pray that the Holy Spirit will inspire you with the spirit of prayer, so that you will pray more." (June 9, 1984)
* "Pray, pray, pray." (June 21, 1984)
* "Always pray before starting a job, and finish it with a prayer." (July 5, 1984)
* "I need your prayers." (30 August 1984)
* "Without prayer there is no peace." (September 6, 1984)
* “Today I invite you to pray, pray, pray! In prayer you will find the greatest joy and the way out of every situation. Thank you for your improvement in prayer. " (March 29, 1985)
* "I beg you to start transforming yourself through prayer and then you will know what to do." (April 24, 1986)
* "Again I am calling you so that through the prayer of your life, you can help destroy evil in people, and discover the deception used by Satan." (September 23, 1986)
* "Dedicate yourself to prayer with special love." (October 2, 1986)
* "During the day, give yourself some special time where you can pray in peace and humility, and have this encounter with God the Creator." (November 25, 1988)
* “So, my little children, pray, pray, pray. Let prayer begin to rule the whole world. " (August 25, 1989)
We chose these messages at random to cover a certain number of years to demonstrate the persistence with which Our Lady continues to ask us for our prayers.
MADONNA'S MESSAGES TO THE PRAYER GROUPS
A large number of messages from Our Lady express her specific desire for the formation of prayer groups, instead of encouraging individual prayer only. "I want a prayer group, I will lead this group, and then when I say it, other groups can be formed in the world." Our Lady continues, “I want a prayer group here. I will guide him and give him rules to sanctify himself. Through these rules all other groups in the world can consecrate themselves. " This message was given by the Virgin to Jelena Vasilj (inner phrase) leader of the prayer group in Medjugorje in March 1983.
Mary founded this prayer group in Medjugorje and continues to guide it to present it as a model to the many prayer groups you want in the world, which have started to take hold.
Our Lady said:
* "All people must be part of a prayer group."
* "Each parish must have a prayer group."
* "I would very much recommend to all my priests to start prayer groups with the youth and I would very much like them to teach it, giving good and holy advice."
* "Today I call you to renew family prayer, in your homes."
* “The work in the fields has already ended. Now all be dedicated to prayer. Allow prayer to take first place in your families. " (November 1, 1984)
* "In these days I call you to pray in the family." (December 6, 1984)
* “Today I invite you to renew prayer in your families. Dear children, encourage the younger ones to pray and attend Holy Mass. " (March 7, 1985)
* “Pray, especially before the Cross from which great graces spring. Now, in your homes, unite in giving yourselves in a special way through your consecration to the Cross of the Lord. " (September 12, 1985)
COMMENTS ON THE PRAYER GROUPS OF THE SEER IVAN DRAGICEVIC
Medjugorje visionary Ivan said, "Prayer groups are the hope of the church and the world."
Ivan continues, “Prayer groups are a sign of hope for the contemporary church and for the world. In prayer groups we should not only recognize the gathering of the usual faithful, but rather we should see every believer, every priest present as the basic ingredient of the group itself. Therefore, prayer groups should seriously take care of their own formation, and should grow in wisdom and openness of mind, to obtain a deeper experience of the grace of God and obtain a richer spiritual growth.
“Each prayer group must be like a soul for the renewal of the parish, the family, and the community. At the same time, with its powerful prayers offered to God, the group must offer itself to the suffering world of today, as channel and distributing source the divine healing power and the health of reconciliation to all humanity, so that it is protected from catastrophes, and to offer her also a renewed moral strength, in reconciliation with God, present in her own intimate.
