Medjugorje: "a light in the world". Statements by the envoy of the Holy See

The envoy of the Holy See, Bishop Henryk Hoser, held his first press conference on the pastoral care in Medjugorje. Hoser had words of praise for Medjugorje in fact he called the place "a light in today's world". Hoser said in his press conference that Eucharistic celebrations, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, via Crucis are held regularly in Medjugorje and saw a strong devotion to the Holy Rosary, calling it "a meditative prayer on the mysteries of the faith".

Hoser also had words of praise for the pilgrims saying "they are especially attracted by the discovery of something exceptional, by the atmosphere of inner peace and peace of hearts, here they find out what something sacred means". Hoser added "here people in Medjugorje receive what they don't have in the place where they live, here people feel the presence of something divine also through the Holy Virgin Mary".

We can conclude that Bishop Hoser had words of praise for Medjugorje receiving the first positive and important verdict even if Hoser stressed that he must not give a verdict on the apparitions, where the Church has not yet pronounced, but only on the matter. to pastoral care.

Medjugorje is now one of the most visited parishes in the world with around 2,5 million faithful who come from 80 different countries.

We await the verdict of Pope Francis regarding the apparitions where he will have to evaluate the work done by the Commission led by Cardinal Ruini established by Benedict XVI.
