Medjugorje: Father Jozo "because Our Lady cried"

FATHER JOZO ZOVKO: WHY DOES THE MADONNA HAVE CRY?
Curated by Alberto Bonifacio - Lecco

JOZO: Why don't you understand Mass because you don't pray with the Bible, On the morning of August 6, feast of the transfiguration P. Jozo Zovko. parish priest of Medjugorje at the beginning of the apparitions, in the church of Tihaljina concelebrated with many Italian priests a long, beautiful Mass, holding a passionate catechesis right on the Mass:
“Our Lady explained the mystery of the Mass in Medjugorje. We priests cannot know the mystery of the Mass because we are little on our knees before the tabernacle; we are always on the way looking for you. We do not know how to celebrate and live Mass because we do not have the time to prepare, to thank. We are always with you; we don't know how to pray because we have so many commitments and a lot of work: we don't have the time to pray. This is why we are unable to live Mass.

Our Lady once said how it is possible to climb the mountain where Mass is lived, where our death, our resurrection, our change, our transfiguration happens: "You don't know how to live the Mass!" and began to cry. Our Lady cried only 5 times in Medjugorje. The first time when he spoke about us priests; then when he spoke of the Bible; then for peace; then on Mass; and now when he gave a great message to young people about a month ago. Why did you cry when you spoke about Mass? Because the Church in many of her faithful has lost the value of the Mass ". At this point Fr. Jozo spoke of Jesus 'crying in front of Lazarus' tomb, explaining that Jesus cried because none of those present, including the two sisters and the same apostles who had been with him for 3 years, had understood who Li was. "You don't know me." We do the same at Mass: we don't recognize Jesus. Our Lady is sad to see you and me during Mass. He cried! And I feel how your heart can melt in the tears of Our Lady, even if it were like a stone; how can you dissolve your life that is ruined and can heal. The Madonna does not cry at random; she does not cry like a fragile woman who cries for nothing. When the Madonna cries, her tears are heavy. Really very heavy. They are capable of opening everything that is closed. They can do a lot. "

Then Fr. Jozo brought himself to the upper room for
to revive that first Eucharistic celebration and to say that Holy Mass is a living and actual memory of that celebration. Then he added: “Whoever does not read the Bible cannot pray, does not know how to pray, like one who does not know how to live the Mass is not capable of living, does not know how to pray. Who is not able to make sacrifices, mortifications, fasting is not able to live the Mass; he cannot feel the sacrifice of the Mass and other sacrifices ... ".

CAN MADONNA SUFFER NOW?

At this point, the question that we often hear asked resurfaces: how can the Madonna who lives in the grace of Heaven, enjoying the beatific vision of God, cry? I try to answer with the arguments of a very good theologian, even if the answer is not easy because it is about eternity while we are prisoners of time.

Moreover, despite some clear interventions of the pontifical magisterium, there are today theological tendencies, which deny that Jesus during his earthly life had the beatific vision: therefore he would have had an imperfect relationship with the Father! This is very dangerous because Jesus is always God. These theologians say: since Christ suffered, he was hungry, he died, it is impossible that these sufferings were true if he continued to have the beatific vision. So in order not to make theater and really suffer, he had to give up the beatific vision. Today this continues: if it is true that the Madonna is sad and does not make theater; if it is true that Christ is sad when he appears in S. Margherita and many other mystics, who shows his wounds to St. Catherine of Siena, etc., then we will find ourselves facing something false. So let's ask the Pontifical Magisterium for light. In the recent encyclical on the Holy Spirit, the Pope recalls the traditional doctrine of the church, that is, the church "mystical body" is the continuation of the incarnation of Christ in his earthly body. So we, with our sins, are the wounds of Christ and Christ suffers in the church. This is very important, because it also explains why Our Lady asks to do penance. Why is it sad? It is sad for our sins, because our sins really make the mystical body of Christ suffer through the church. So it is true that Christ and Our Lady are in heaven in eternity, but history is not yet complete for them, as they live, through the mystical body of the church, all the suffering of humanity to the end. There is no contradiction. The doctrine of those theologians endangers the divinity of Christ. We all experience that in life there can be joys and sadnesses simultaneously. Our Lady intervenes to remind us that with sin we make the Church, the mystical Body of Christ, suffer.

This is the explanation of the stigmata that some saints have, such as Padre Pio: the wounds of Christ in their body remind us that this is caused by our sins. The saints, because of their holiness, continue to carry the wounds of Christ more deeply into their flesh, because they are the ones that save us. Our every sin continues to nail Christ in his Mystical Body, in the Church. This is why we must do penance and be converted to obtain the benefits of peace, joy and serenity already in current history.
