Medjugorje: voice for the young people of the festival

In communion of intentions and spirit with the Holy Father, the Church of Medjugorje wanted to make the theme of the World Youth Day that took place in Rome its own: "The Word of God became flesh ..." and wanted to reflect on the mystery of the incarnation, on the miracle of a God who becomes man and who decides to stay with the man Emmanuel in the Eucharist.
St. John in the Prologue of his Gospel, speaking of the Word of God as the light that comes to illuminate the darkness of the world, says: “He came among his people but his own did not accept him. But to those who welcomed him, he gave power to become children of God: to those who believe in his name, who were begotten not by blood, by the will of flesh, or by the will of man, but by God. ”(Jn 1,12-13) This divine sonship was precisely the fruit of the grace of Medjugorje during the days of the Festival.
Through Mary, Mother of Emmanuel and our Mother, the young people opened their hearts to God and recognized him as their Father. The effects of this encounter with God the Father, who in his Son Jesus redeems us and brings us together, were the joy and peace that pervaded the hearts of young people, a joy that could be felt as well as admired!
So that the memory of these days does not remain only in the story of a chronicle, we have decided to report the experiences and intentions of some young people, aged between 18 and 25, as a testimony of the graces received.

Pierluigi: “The experience of adoration in this festival personally gave me peace, a peace that I was looking for in everyday life but that in reality I could not find, a peace that lasts, that is born in the heart. During the adoration I understood that if we open our hearts to the Lord, He enters and transforms us, we just have to want to know him. It is true that here in Medjugorje peace and serenity are different than in other places, but it is precisely here that our responsibility begins: we must transplant this oasis, we must not keep it only in our hearts, we must bring it to others, without impose on us, but with love. Our Lady asks us to pray the Rosary every day, not to give who knows what speeches and she promises us that the Rosary alone can work miracles in our life. "

Paola: “During Communion I cried a lot because I was sure, I felt, that in the Eucharist God was there and was present in me; my weeping was of joy not of sadness. In Medjugorje I learned to cry for joy. "

Daniela: “From this experience I received more than what I expected; I have found peace and I believe this is the most precious thing I take home. I also found the joy that for some time I had lost and could not find; here I understood that I had lost my joy because I had lost Jesus. "
Many young people arrived in Medjugorje with the desire to understand what to do with their lives, the greatest miracle was, as always, the change of heart.

Cristina: “I came here with the desire to understand what my path is, what I have to do in life and I was waiting for a sign. I tried to be attentive to all the emotions I felt, I hoped to recognize and experience in me that vacuum that you feel when you meet Jesus in the Eucharist. Then I understood, also listening to the testimonies of Sister Elvira's young people, that the sign I must look for is a change of heart: learning to apologize, not to answer if I am offended, in short, learning to be humble. I decided to set some practical points to follow: first of all to lower my head and then I would like to give a sign to my family by learning more to be silent and to listen. "

Maria Pia: “In this festival I was very impressed by the reports and testimonies and I discovered that I had a wrong way of praying. Before when I prayed I always tended to ask Jesus while now I understood that before asking anything, we must free ourselves from ourselves and offer our life to God. This has always scared me; I remember that when I recited the Our Father I could not say "Thy will be done", I have never been able to overcome myself to offer myself completely to God, because I was always afraid that my plans would collide with those of God. understood that it is essential to free ourselves from ourselves because otherwise we do not go forward in the spiritual life. " He who feels himself to be a child of God, he who experiences his tender and paternal love cannot carry resentment or enmity within him. This fundamental truth found confirmation in the experience of some young people:

Manuela: “Here I experienced peace, serenity and forgiveness. I prayed a lot for this gift and in the end I was able to forgive. "

Maria Fiore: “In Medjugorje I was able to see how every coldness and coldness in relationships melts in the warmth of Mary's love. I understood that communion is important, that which is lived in the love of God; if we remain alone we die, even spiritually. St. John concludes his Prologue by saying. "From his fullness we have all received grace upon grace" (Jn 1,16:XNUMX); we too want to conclude by saying that in these days we have experienced the fullness of life, we have experienced that Life becomes flesh in every man who welcomes it and gives fruits of eternal joy and profound peace to every heart that opens.
For her part, Mary was not only a spectator of these "miracles", but she certainly contributed with her offer to the realization of God's plan for every young person present at the Festival.
