Mass of the Day
IV EASTER SUNDAY - YEAR C

Liturgical Color White
Antiphon
The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord;
his word created the heavens. Alleluia. (Ps 32,5-6)

Collection
Almighty and merciful God,
guide us to possess eternal joy,
because the humble flock of your faithful
come safely to your side,
where Christ, his shepherd, preceded him.
He is God, and lives and reigns with you ...

?Or:

O God, source of joy and peace,
that you have entrusted to the royal power of your Son
the fate of men and peoples,
support us with the power of your Spirit,
and do that in the events of the time,
we never separate from our pastor
that guides us to the sources of life.
He is God, and lives and reigns with you ...

First Reading
Here, we turn to the pagans.
From the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 13,14.43: 52-XNUMX

In those days, Paul and Barnaba, continuing from Perge, arrived in Antiòchia in Pisìdia and, entering the synagogue on Saturday, sat down.

Many Jews and proselytes who believed in God followed Paul and Barnabas and they, by entertaining them, tried to persuade them to persevere in the grace of God.

On the following Saturday, almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. When they saw that multitude, the Jews were filled with jealousy and with insulting words they contrasted Paul's statements. Then Paul and Barnabas frankly declared: «It was necessary that first of all the word of God be proclaimed to you, but since you reject it and do not judge yourselves worthy of eternal life, here we are: we turn to the pagans. So in fact the Lord ordered us: "I have placed you to be light of the people, because you bring salvation to the end of the earth" ».

Upon hearing this, the pagans rejoiced and glorified the word of the Lord, and all who were destined for eternal life believed. The word of the Lord spread throughout the region. But the Jews stirred up the pious women of the nobility and the notables of the city and provoked a persecution against Paul and Barnabas and drove them out of their territory. Then they shook off the dust of their feet against them and went to Iconium. The disciples were full of joy and the Holy Spirit.

God's word

Responsorial Psalm
From Psalm 99 (100)
R. We are his people, the flock he leads.
?Or:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Acclaim the Lord, all of you on earth,
serve the Lord in joy,
introduce yourself to him with exultation. R.

Recognize that only the Lord is God:
he made us and we are his,
his people and flock of his pasture. R.

Because the Lord is good,
his love is forever,
his loyalty from generation to generation. R.

Second reading
The Lamb will be their shepherd and guide them to the sources of the waters of life.
From the book of the Apocalypse of Saint John the Apostle
Rev 7,9.14b-17

I, John, saw: behold, an immense multitude, which no one could count, of every nation, tribe, people and language. Everyone stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wrapped in white robes, and holding palm branches in their hands.

And one of the elders said: «They are the ones who come from the great tribulation and who washed their clothes, making them white in the blood of the Lamb. This is why they stand before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and He who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them.

They will no longer be hungry or thirsty,
the sun will not strike them nor any heat,
because the Lamb, who stands in the middle of the throne,
will be their shepherd
and will guide them to the sources of the waters of life.
And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes. "

I give eternal life to my sheep.

Jn 10,27-30

At that time, Jesus said: «My sheep listen to my voice and I know them and they follow me.

My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all and nobody can tear them from the Father's hand.
The Father and I are one. "
