Mass of the Day
THURSDAY BETWEEN THE EIGHTH OF EASTER

Liturgical Color White
Antiphon
A choir of praises rises, O Lord, at your victory,
because wisdom has opened the mouth of the dumb
and has melted the children's tongue. Alleluia. (Sap 10,20-21)

Collection
O Father, who from all parts of the earth
you brought people together to praise your name,
grant that all your children,

For our Lord Jesus Christ ...

First Reading
You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.
From the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 3,11: 26-XNUMX

In those days, while the healed cripple kept Peter and John, all the people, out of their amazement, rushed towards them at the portico called Solomon.

Seeing this, Peter said to the people, "Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this and why do you keep staring at us as if by our power or our religiosity we had made this man walk?" The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and denied before Pilate, while he had decided to free him; instead you denied the Saint and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be pardoned. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead: we are witnesses of it. And because of the faith placed in him, the name of Jesus gave strength to this man whom you see and know; the faith that comes from him has given this man perfect healing in the presence of all of you.

Now, brothers, I know that you have acted out of ignorance, as well as your leaders. But God thus accomplished what he had foretold by the mouth of all the prophets, that is, his Christ was to suffer. So get converted and change your life, so that your sins may be canceled and so the times of consolation from the Lord may come and he will send him who had destined you as Christ, that is Jesus. Heaven must welcome him until the times of the reconstitution of all things, of which God has spoken by mouth of his holy prophets since ancient times. Moses in fact said: “The Lord your God will raise up for you, from your brothers, a prophet like me; you will listen to him in everything he tells you. And it will happen: whoever does not listen to that prophet, will be eradicated from the midst of the people ". And all the prophets, beginning with Samuel and those who spoke later, also announced these days.

You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your fathers when he said to Abraham: "In your descendants will be blessed all the nations of the earth." God, after raising his servant, sent him first of all to you to bring you the blessing, so that each of you may turn away from his iniquities ».

God's word.

Responsorial Psalm

From Ps 8
R. O Lord, our Lord, how wonderful your name is on all the earth!
?Or:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
O Lord, our Lord,
how wonderful your name is on all the earth!
What is man because you remember him,
the son of man, why do you care? R.

You really did it a little less than a god,
you crowned him with glory and honor.
You gave him power over the works of your hands,
you have everything under his feet. R.

All the flocks and herds,
and even the beasts of the countryside,
the birds of the sky and the fish of the sea,
every being who travels the ways of the seas. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

This is the day made by the Lord:
let us rejoice and rejoice. (Ps 117,24)

Hallelujah.

Gospel
Thus it is written: Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day.
From the Gospel according to Luke
Lc 24,35-48

At that time, [the two disciples who had returned from Emmaus] narrated what had happened along the way and how they recognized it in breaking the bread.

While they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them and said: "Peace be with you!". Shocked and full of fear, they believed they saw a ghost. But he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your heart? Look at my hands and my feet: it's really me! Touch me and look; a ghost has no flesh and bones, as you see I have. " Saying this, he showed them his hands and feet.

But because for joy they still didn't believe and were full of amazement, he said, "Do you have anything to eat here?" They offered him a portion of roasted fish; he took it and ate it in front of them.

Then he said: "These are the words I said to you when I was still with you: all things written about me in the Law of Moses, in the Prophets and in the Psalms must be fulfilled." Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures and said to them: "Thus it is written: the Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and in his name the conversion and forgiveness of sins will be preached to all peoples, starting from Jerusalem . You are witnesses to this ».
