MONDAY OF THE XNUMXTH WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME (ODD YEAR)

Green Liturgical Color
Antiphon
Let us remember, O God, your mercy
in the middle of your temple.
Like your name, O God, so is your praise
extends to the ends of the earth;
your right hand is full of justice. (Ps 47,10-11)

Collection
O God, who in the humiliation of your Son
you raised humanity from its fall,
give us renewed Easter joy,
because, free from the oppression of guilt,
we participate in eternal happiness.
For our Lord Jesus Christ ...

First Reading
A ladder rested on the ground, while its top reached the sky.
From the book of Gènesi
Jan 28,10-22a

In those days, Jacob departed from Beersheba and headed for Carran. Thus he came to a place where he spent the night because the sun had set; he took a stone there, placed it as a pillow and lay down in that place.
He had a dream: a ladder rested on the earth, while its top reached the sky; and behold, the angels of God went up and down on it. Behold, the Lord stood before him and said, "I am the Lord, the God of Abraham, your father, and the God of Isaac. To you and your descendants I will give the land you are lying on. Your offspring will be as innumerable as the dust of the earth; therefore you will expand to the west and east, to the north and to the south. And all the families of the earth will be called blessed in you and in your descendants. Behold, I am with you and I will protect you wherever you go; then I will bring you back to this land, because I will not abandon you without having done all that I have told you ».
Jacob woke up from sleep and said, "Of course, the Lord is in this place and I didn't know it." He was afraid and said: "How terrible this place is! This is the very house of God, this is the door to heaven ».
In the morning Jacob got up, took the stone that he had placed as a pillow, erected it like a stele and poured oil on its top. And he called that place Bethel, while before then the city was called Luz.
Jacob made this vow: "If God will be with me and will protect me on this journey that I am making and will give me bread to eat and clothes to cover me, if I return safely to my father's house, the Lord will be my God. This stone, which I have erected as a stele, will be a house of God ».

God's word

Responsorial Psalm
From Ps 90 (91)
R. My God, I trust in you.
Who lives in the shelter of the Most High
he will spend the night in the shadow of the Almighty.
I say to the Lord: "My refuge and my fortress,
my God in whom I trust ». R.

He will free you from the hunter's snare,
from the plague that destroys.
He will cover you with his pens,
under its wings you will find refuge;
his loyalty will be your shield and armor. R.

"I will release him, because he is tied to me,
I will keep him safe, because he knew my name.
He will invoke me and I will answer him;
in anguish I will be with him ». R.

Gospel
My daughter died right now; but come and she will live.
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 9,18-26

At that time, [while Jesus was speaking,] one of the leaders arrived, prostrated himself before him and said: «My daughter is dead just now; but come, lay your hand on her and she will live. " Jesus got up and followed him with his disciples.
And behold, a woman, who had been bleeding for twelve years, came up behind him and touched the edge of her cloak. In fact, she said to herself: "If I can even touch her cloak, I will be saved." Jesus turned around, saw her and said: «Come on, daughter, your faith has saved you». And from that moment the woman was saved.
Then arriving at the chief's house and seeing the flutists and the crowd in agitation, Jesus said: «Go away! In fact, the girl is not dead, but is sleeping ». And they mocked him. But after the crowd was chased away, he entered, took her hand and the girl stood up. And this news spread throughout that region.
