Antiphon
The Lord is the strength of his people
and refuge of salvation for his Christ.
Save your people, Lord, bless your inheritance,
and be his guide forever. (Ps 27,8: 9-XNUMX)

Collection
Give to your people, Father,
to always live in veneration
and in love for your holy name,
because you never deprive yourself of your guide
those you have established on the rock of your love.
For our Lord Jesus Christ.

First Reading
Abram left, as the Lord had ordered him.

From the book of Gènesi
Gn 13,2.5-18

Abram was very rich in cattle, silver and gold. But also Lot, who accompanied Abram, had flocks and herds and tents, and the territory did not allow them to live together, because they had too large goods and could not live together. For this reason a quarrel arose between the herdsmen of Abram and the herdsmen of Lot. The Canaanites and Perizzites then lived in the earth. Abram said to Lot, "There is no discord between you and me, between my herdsmen and yours, because we are brothers. Is not the whole territory before you? Separate from me. If you go left, I will go right; if you go to the right, I will go to the left ».
Then Lot looked up and saw that the whole Jordan valley was a watered place on all sides - before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah - like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt up to Soar. Lot chose the whole Jordan Valley for himself and carried the tents eastward. So they separated from each other: Abram settled in the land of Canaan and Lot settled in the cities of the valley and pitched his tents near Sodom. Now the men of Sodom were wicked and sinned much against the Lord.
Then the Lord said to Abram, after Lot had parted from him: “Lift up your eyes, and from the place where you are, cast your gaze towards the north and the south, towards the east and the west. All the land that you see, I will give to you and your descendants forever. I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth: if anyone can count the dust of the earth, he can also count your descendants. Get up, walk the length and breadth of the earth, because I will give it to you. " Then Abram moved with his tents and went to settle in the Oaks of Mamre, which are in Hebron, and built an altar there to the Lord.

God's word.

Responsorial Psalm
From Psalm 14 (15)
R. Sir, who will be a guest in your tent?
He who walks without guilt,
practice justice
and says the truth in his heart,
he does not spread slander with his tongue. R.

It does no harm to your neighbor
and does not insult his neighbor.
In his eyes the wicked is despicable,
but honor those who fear the Lord. R.

It does not lend its money to usury
and does not accept gifts against the innocent.
He who acts in this way
will remain firm forever. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

I am the light of the world, says the Lord;
those who follow me will have the light of life. (Jn 8,12:XNUMX)

Hallelujah.

Gospel
Everything you want men to do to you, do it to them too.
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 7,6.12-14

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
«Do not give holy things to the dogs and do not throw your pearls in front of the pigs, so that they do not trample them with their paws and then turn to tear you to pieces.
Everything you want men to do to you, you too do it to them: this is in fact the Law and the Prophets.
Enter through the narrow door, because the door is wide and the way leading to perdition is spacious, and many are those who enter it. How narrow the door is and narrow the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it! ».

Word of the Lord.
