Mass of the Day
WEDNESDAY OF THE THIRD WEEK OF EASTER

Liturgical Color White
Antiphon
My mouth is full of your praise,
for me to sing;
my lips will exult to you singing. Alleluia. (Ps 70,8.23)

Collection
Assist, O God our Father,
this family of yours gathered in prayer:
you who gave us the grace of faith,
grant us to be part of the eternal inheritance
for the resurrection of Christ your Son and our Lord.
He is God, and lives and reigns with you ...

First Reading
They went from place to place, announcing the Word.
From the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 8,1b-8

On that day a violent persecution broke out against the Church of Jerusalem; all except the apostles dispersed to the regions of Judea and Samaria.

Pious men buried Stefano and made a great mourning for him. Meanwhile, Saul sought to destroy the Church: he entered the houses, took men and women and had them put in prison.
But those who had dispersed went from place to place, announcing the Word.
Philip, who went down to a city in Samaria, preached Christ to them. And the crowds, unanimously, paid attention to Philip's words, hearing him speak and seeing the signs he did. In fact from many demoniacs impure spirits came out, uttering loud cries, and many paralytics and cripples were healed. And there was great joy in that city.

God's word.

Responsorial Psalm
From Ps 65 (66)
R. Acclaim God, all of you on earth.
?Or:
R. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Acclaim God, all of you on earth,
sing the glory of his name,
give him glory with praise.
Say to God: "Your works are terrible!" R.

"The whole earth prostrates to you,
sing to you hymns, sing to your name ».
Come and see the works of God,
terrible in its action on men. R.

He changed the sea to mainland;
they passed the river on foot:
for this reason we rejoice in him for joy.
With his strength he rules forever. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, says the Lord,
and I will raise him up on the last day. Alleluia. (See Jn 6,40)

Hallelujah.

Gospel
This is the will of the Father: that anyone who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life.
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 6,35-40

At that time, Jesus said to the crowd: «I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me will not be hungry and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty! But I told you that you saw me, yet you don't believe.
All that the Father gives me will come to me: he who comes to me, I will not drive him out, because I came down from heaven not to do my will, but the will of the one who sent me.

And this is the will of the one who sent me: that I lose nothing of what he has given me, but that I will raise him up on the last day. This indeed is the will of my Father: that anyone who sees the Son and believes in him has eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day. "

Word of the Lord.
