First Reading
They chose seven men full of the Holy Spirit.
From the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 6,1: 7-XNUMX

In those days, as the number of disciples increased, the Greek-speaking ones murmured against the Hebrew-speaking ones because their widows were neglected in daily care.

Then the Twelve summoned the group of disciples and said: «It is not right that we leave aside the word of God to serve the canteens. Therefore, brothers, look for among you seven men of good reputation, full of Spirit and wisdom, to whom we will entrust this task. Instead, we will dedicate ourselves to prayer and to the service of the Word ».

The whole group liked this proposal and they chose Stefano, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit, Filippo, Pròcoro, Nicànore, Timone, Parmenàs and Nicola, a proselyte of Antiòchia. They presented them to the apostles and, after praying, laid their hands on them.

And the word of God spread and the number of disciples in Jerusalem multiplied greatly; even a great multitude of priests adhered to the faith.

God's word.

Responsorial Psalm
From Ps 32 (33)
R. May your love be upon us, Lord.
?Or:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Rejoice, o righteous, in the Lord;
praise is beautiful for upright men.
Praise the Lord with the harp,
with the ten-string harp sung to him. R.

Because right is the word of the Lord
every work is faithful.
He loves justice and law;
the earth is full of the love of the Lord. R.

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear him,
on who hopes in his love,
to free him from death
and feed it in times of starvation. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

Christ is risen, he who created the world,
and saved men in his mercy.

Hallelujah.

Gospel
They saw Jesus walking on the sea.
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 6,16-21

When evening came, his disciples of Jesus went down to the sea, boarded the boat and set off towards the other shore of the sea in the direction of Capernaum.

It was now dark and Jesus had not yet reached them; the sea was rough because a strong wind blew.

After rowing for about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and approaching the boat, and they were afraid. But he said to them, "It's me, don't be afraid!"

Then they wanted to take him on the boat, and immediately the boat touched the shore to which they were directed.

Word of the Lord.

On offers
Sanctify, O God, the gifts we present to you
and transforms our whole life into an everlasting offering
in union with the spiritual victim,
your servant Jesus,
only sacrifice you like.
He lives and reigns for ever and ever.

?Or:

Welcome, Holy Father, the gifts that the Church offers you,
and allow your children to serve you with freedom of spirit
in the joy of the risen Lord.
He lives and reigns for ever and ever.

Communion antiphon
"Those you gave me, Father,
I want them to be with me, where I am,
because they contemplate
the glory that you have given me ». Alleluia. (Jn 17:24)

?Or:

The disciples took Jesus on the boat
and quickly the boat touched the shore. Alleluia. (Jn 6:21)

After communion
O God, who nourished us with this sacrament
listen to our humble prayer:
the memorial of Easter,
that Christ your Son commanded us to celebrate,
always build us in the bond of your charity.
For Christ our Lord.

?Or:

O God, who in this admirable sacrament
communicate your strength and peace to the Church,
grant us to adhere intimately to Christ,
to build, with daily work,
your kingdom of freedom and love.
For Christ our Lord.
