FRIDAY 12 JULY 2019
Mass of the Day
FRIDAY OF THE XIV WEEK OF ORDINARY TIME (ODD YEAR)

Green Liturgical Color
Antiphon
Let us remember, O God, your mercy
in the middle of your temple.
Like your name, O God, so is your praise
extends to the ends of the earth;
your right hand is full of justice. (Ps 47,10-11)

Collection
O God, who in the humiliation of your Son
you raised humanity from its fall,
give us renewed Easter joy,
because, free from the oppression of guilt,
we participate in eternal happiness.
For our Lord Jesus Christ ...

First Reading
I can even die after seeing your face.
From the book of Gènesi
Jan 46,1-7.28-30

In those days, Israel therefore raised the curtains with what it possessed and arrived in Beersheba, where it offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
God said to Israel in a vision in the night: "Jacob, Jacob!". He replied, "Here I am!" He said, "I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, because I will make you a great nation over there. I will go down with you to Egypt and I will certainly bring you back. Joseph will close your eyes with his hands. »
Jacob departed from Beersheba and the sons of Israel brought their father Jacob, their children and their women on the wagons that Pharaoh had sent to transport him. They took their livestock and all the goods they had bought in the land of Canaan and came to Egypt, Jacob and all his descendants with him. He brought his sons and grandchildren, his daughters and granddaughters, all his descendants with him to Egypt.
He had sent Judah before him to Joseph to instruct Gosen before he arrived. Then they came to the land of Gosen. Then Joseph attacked his chariot and went up to meet his father Israel in Gosen. As soon as he saw him in front, he threw himself around his neck and cried for a long time, tight against his neck. Israel said to Joseph, "I can also die, this time, after seeing your face, because you are still alive."

God's word

Responsorial Psalm
From Ps 36 (37)
R. The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord.
Trust in the Lord and do good:
you will inhabit the earth and graze safely.
Seek joy in the Lord:
will fulfill your heart's desires. R.

The Lord knows the days of whole men:
their legacy will last forever.
They will not be ashamed in the time of misfortune
and in the days of famine they will be satisfied. R.

Stay away from evil and do good
and you will always have a home.
Because the Lord loves the right
and does not abandon its faithful. R.

The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord:
in times of anguish it is their fortress.
The Lord helps and frees them,
free them from the wicked and save them,
because they took refuge in him. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you to the whole truth,
and it will remind you of everything I have told you. (Jn 16,13:14,26; XNUMXd)

Hallelujah.

Gospel
It is not you who speaks, but it is the Spirit of your Father.
From the Gospel according to Matthew
Mt 10,16-23

At that time, Jesus said to his apostles:
«Here: I send you like sheep in the midst of wolves; therefore be prudent as serpents and simple as doves.
Beware of men, for they will hand you over to the courts and scourge you in their synagogues; and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness to them and the pagans. But when they deliver you, do not worry about how or what you will say, because in that hour you will be given what you have to say: in fact it is not you who speaks, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.
The brother will kill the brother and the father the son, and the children will rise to accuse the parents and kill them. You will be hated by everyone because of my name. But whoever perseveres to the end will be saved.
When you are persecuted in one city, flee to another; verily I say unto you, thou shalt not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of man comes.
