Mass of the Day
FRIDAY OF THE V EASTER WEEK

Liturgical Color White
Antiphon
The sacrificed Lamb is worthy to receive power
and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor. Alleluia. (Ap 5,12)

Collection
Give us, Father, to standardize our lives
to the paschal mystery that we celebrate in joy,
because the power of the risen Lord
protect us and save us.
For our Lord Jesus Christ ...

First Reading
It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to impose another obligation on you other than these necessary things.
From the Acts of the Apostles
Acts 15,22: 31-XNUMX

In those days, the apostles and the elders, with the whole Church, seemed well to choose some of them and to send them to Antiòchia together with Paul and Barnabas: Judas, called Barsabba, and Silas, men of great authority among the brothers.

And through them they sent this writing: «The apostles and the elders, your brothers, to the brothers of Antioch, Syria and Cilicia, who come from the pagans, health! We have learned that some of us, to whom we had not given any assignment, have come to upset you with speeches that have upset your souls. It seemed good to us therefore, all in agreement, to choose some people and send them to you together with our dear Bàrnaba and Paolo, men who risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report these same things to you verbally. It seemed good, in fact, to the Holy Spirit and to us, not to impose on you any other obligation apart from these necessary things: to abstain from meat offered to idols, from blood, from suffocated animals and from illegitimate unions. You will do well to stay away from these things. You look fine!".

They then took their leave and went down to Antioch; assembled the assembly, they delivered the letter. When they read it, they rejoiced at the encouragement it instilled.

God's word

Responsorial Psalm
From Ps 56 (57)
R. I will praise you among peoples, Lord.
?Or:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
Balance is my heart, O God,
steadfast is my heart.
I want to sing, I want to sing:
wake up, my heart,
wake up harp and zither,
I want to wake up the dawn. R.

I will praise you among peoples, Lord,
to you I will sing hymns among the nations:
your love is great to the heavens
and to the clouds your loyalty.
Rise above the sky, O God,
on all the earth your glory. R.

Gospel acclamation
Hallelujah, hallelujah.

I called you friends, says the Lord,
because all that I have heard from my Father
I made it known to you. (Jn 15,15b)

Hallelujah.

Gospel
This I command you: that you love one another.
From the Gospel according to John
Jn 15,12-17

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:

«This is my commandment: that you love one another as I have loved you. Nobody has a greater love than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

You are my friends if you do what I command you. I no longer call you servants, because the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you all that I have heard from my Father.

You did not choose me, but I chose you and I made you to go and bear fruit and your fruit to remain; because everything you ask the Father in my name, grant it to you. This I command you: that you love one another ».

Word of the Lord

On offers
Sanctify, O God, the gifts we present to you
and transforms our whole life into an everlasting offering
in union with the spiritual victim, your servant Jesus,
only sacrifice you like.
He lives and reigns for ever and ever.

?Or:

O Father, who from the open heart of your Son
you brought forth blood and water,
sign of the sacraments of redemption,
accept the offers that we present to you
and fill us with the inexhaustible richness of your gifts.
For Christ our Lord.

Communion antiphon
The crucified Christ rose from the dead
and redeemed us. Alleluia.

?Or:

"You are my friends,
if you do what I command you »,
says the Lord. Alleluia. (Jn 15,14:XNUMX)

After communion
O God, who nourished us with this sacrament,
listen to our humble prayer:
the memorial of Easter,
that Christ your Son commanded us to celebrate,
you always build us in your charity.
For Christ our Lord.

?Or:

O Father, whom you feed at your table
those who trust in your love,
guide us in the way of your commandments
until the eternal Easter of your kingdom.
For Christ our Lord.
