The case took place on March 30, 1992 in Spain. That night it was raining a lot and there were strong gusts of wind. A plane Aviaco McDonnell Douglas DC-9 took off from Madrid to Granada and, upon landing, the landing gear struck the ground with great force and at high speed, causing the plane to climb up and crash to the ground, which caused the plane to break in two.

Passengers stopped 100 meters away from each other. Twenty-six people were injured, but none died. The case became known as "the miracle plane".

The pilot, Jaime Mazarrasa, he was the brother of a priest, father Gonzalo. The priest told on social media that he was doing the 30 days of prayer to St. Joseph when he learned that a plane had broken in half while landing in Spain. The priest's brother was the pilot of the plane.

“I was studying a Roma in 1992 and I lived at the Spanish College of San José, which that year celebrated its centenary (...) I was finishing a 30-day prayer to ask the Holy Patriarch for 'impossible things', when a plane broke in two when it landed in a city in Spain with nearly a hundred people on board. The pilot was my brother. There was only one seriously injured person, who later recovered. That day I learned that St. Joseph has a lot of power before the Throne of God ”.

Father Gonzalo used the space to encourage devotion to the 30 days of prayer to Saint Joseph: “I have been praying this prayer for 30 years and he has never let me down. On the contrary, he has always far exceeded my hopes. I know who I trust. To enter this world, God needed only one woman. But it was also necessary for a man to take care of her and her Son, and God thought of a son of the House of David: Joseph, the Spouse of Mary, from whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ ".
