Eucharistic miracle after a Mass? The Diocese made it clear that way

In recent days the photograph of a alleged Eucharistic miracle went viral on the social network Facebook. As told on ChurchPop.es, in the parish of San Vicente de Paul in Villa Tesei (Buenos Aires, Argentina), a blood clot would have formed in some hosts after the celebration of Mass.

The text of the publication accompanying the photograph says:

“'Eucharistic miracle'. This miracle took place in the parish of San Vicente de Paul, Villa Tesei, Argentina. On August 30 last some hosts had fallen to the ground, the 2 men who take care of the cleaning of the parish informed the parish priest who ordered them to put them in a glass of water. The next day, on 31/08/2021, they cleaned the parish again and when they went to look for the glass they couldn't believe their eyes: the water looked a little pink and at 15 pm it became thicker with blood clots until 18pm when the miracle was complete. The priest entrusted the miracle to the bishop of Morón. The Lord lives, praise him, love him with all your heart ”.

Father Martín Bernal, spokesman for the diocese of Morón (Buenos Aires, Argentina), released a statement on 4 September in which he clarified what had happened.

"Faced with the versions of an alleged Eucharistic miracle that would have occurred on August 31 of this year, the bishop of Morón, Father Jorge Vázquez, affirmed through the priest's testimony that on that day he celebrated mass that in no way can it be to speak of a Eucharistic miracle, because the hosts to which the audio and texts refer were not consecrated by any priest but rather fell before being presented in the offerings ”.

At the same time, the spokesperson noted that "these hosts were kept in a plastic bag, and then they were put in water to dissolve, as is customary in these cases."

"However", the statement reads, "for the reassurance of all, the Bishop has already started the relevant investigations and the analysis of these hosts will be carried out in the laboratory".
