Muslim tries to kill the brother who has decided to believe in Jesus

After being converted to Christianity, a man who lives in the east ofUgandain Africa, is recovering from a machete blow to the head that his Muslim brother inflicted on him last month. He talks about it BibliaTodo.com.

Abudlawali Kijwalo, 39, comes from a family of devoted sheikhs and hajjis (pilgrims to Mecca). On June 27, Kijwalo was raising his cattle in Nankodo, in Kibuku district, when his brother, Murishid musoga, he faced it.

Family members had warned Kijwalo not to listen to gospel music or to claim that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. Kijwalo told a Morning Star News who was listening to a Christian radio station that day.

"Are you still a Muslim or are you a Christian now?" Murishid asked him. “I am of Christ,” Kijwalo replied.

The brother pulled out a machete tied under his long robe and hit him in the head, causing him to collapse to the ground. Kijwalo began to bleed profusely as his brother walked away, thinking he had killed him.

A village elder, who witnessed the attack, called for help and rushed to assist him. He was taken on a motorcycle to a medical center in the nearby city of Kasasira, where he was treated.

Medics have said Kijwalo will survive but needs rest and further care. Kijwalo, without money for medical bills and food, has fled to an unknown location.

The attack was the latest of many cases of persecution of Christians in Uganda.

The Ugandan Constitution and other laws establish religious freedom, including the right to propagate one's faith and to convert from one faith to another. Muslims represent no more than 12% of Uganda's population, with a high concentration in the eastern parts of the country.
