Reading the bible and the history of the people of God, what fascinates me most is that it is the people who always bless God, Blessing God in joy and prosperity is easy, everyone succeeds, but blessing him in the trial is the seal of the true faithful. There are dramatic pages of fear of danger and of great despair where the faithful in trial begin a supplication to God addressing him with these words "Blessed are you God of Israel ...." yes the people of God is this, this is the people we are part of, a race that despite suffering terribly does not fail to bless it because it does not doubt His Love.
Reading these stories of men and women who bless God in trial, while they suffer grieving illnesses and injustices, while they are crashed by fear, or in an abyss of bitterness and despair move me to tears and I dare not think how much they could have moved him, the our passionate and visceral God who loves us to the Blood. And so we learn from the sacred texts that Blessing God in tears wounds him, always from the Bible we learn that the angels and archangels immediately go before his throne to report it to him and God struck at the heart moves with compassion, and intervenes giving unheard of graces, ordering wonderful things like what happened to Toby and. It will be that I had pleaded with God to take their lives from them for the sufferings they were suffering.
Even this terrible request of theirs began with "Blessed are You God of Israel."
