Baby girl cured of a tumor: the miracle of Saint Anthony

There are things that cannot be explained. Facts in front of which even doctors raise their arms. They are sure, the parents and grandparents of little Kairyn, certainly the amazed faithful who on Sunday listened to the words of Father Enzo Poiana, in the basilica of Sant'Antonio, when, during the baptism, the rector told the inexplicable story of this little girl.

A BRAIN CANCER. A miracle. While still a fetus in the womb, the mother had undergone a first ultrasound. Trembling the verdict: the little girl had a very bad spot on the right side of her face. The gynecologist had sent the parents to a specialist colleague in Verona (Kairyn's mom and dad come from a small town in the Verona area). The second test had not only confirmed the diagnosis, but even shown an even more serious clinical picture: in addition to the malformation, there would have been an ongoing infection, which endangered the life of the girl, and also that of the mother.

THE GRANDMOTHER'S PRAYERS. On the advice of the two doctors, the couple decided to hear another opinion, that of a specialist from Bologna. But the wait would have been at least two months. At that point, the girl's grandmother turned to prayer, turning to the holy thaumaturge. Soon after, the parents had tried again to make an appointment in Bologna. From the secretariat, the response this time was different: a niche was freed just on June 13th.

VISIT TO THE HOLY. Grandmother had no doubts: something beautiful was about to happen to that family. Before arriving at the clinic, mom, dad and grandparents stopped in Padua and went to visit the saint in his basilica. They visited the tombs, the chapel of the relics, that of the blessings. Here, they told their priest a story. The religious blessed the mother and asked them to trust.

THE MEETING DURING THE WAIT. The family left, but before going in for the visit, there was still some time left. They spent it in a bar opposite the clinic. At a certain point, a man in a wheelchair entered the door, suffering from the malformation with which the unborn baby was affected. A signal, according to grandparents and parents, who told all the phases of this incredible story to Father Poiana and to another priest, after the birth of the girl.

"THE CANCER HAS DISAPPEARED". When it was time to face the verdict of yet another specialist, something incredible happened: the stain had disappeared, there was no trace of the infection. The baby was perfectly healthy. A diagnosis that the doctor, who had received and confirmed the findings made by the doctors who preceded him, failed to explain himself. When his grandmother told him, pervaded by joy, of how in those weeks he had prayed to Saint Anthony to do her the grace, the gynecologist himself was speechless: "There are things in front of which we doctors can do nothing, go to pray to the Saint ”.

THE STORY TO FATHER POIANA. Kairyn was born on October 1st, and she looks great. During her pregnancy, she was first diagnosed with lipoma, then even with liposarcoma. Finally, nothing. The evil was gone. Mom and dad wanted the rector Poiana to learn about their miracle. The priest went to their home to collect, in addition to the story, the necessary documentation and to draw up a report. Listening to their story, when he learned that his parents intended to baptize their daughter in the Basilica of the Saint, he asked them to be able to celebrate a public function, to show that "these things happen" and that, in in this case, the faithful could have "verified with their eyes".

THE BAPTISM. "The sacrament was celebrated on Sunday - said Father Poiana - when I spoke of Kairyn's story during the homily, the faithful were amazed, and, in greeting the child, there was an applause". With these things, of course, it takes a lot of caution, and, before certifying the miracle, you need a painstaking documentation. But the emotion of the faithful gathered in the church on Sunday did not need time to recognize, in the story of Kairyn, a miracle of Saint Anthony.
