Novena to the Infant Jesus of Prague, how to pray

Jesus was poor from the time of his incarnation. He became man to teach us to emulate the virtue of poverty. Like God, everything he needed was close at hand, but he chose to be poor. In fact, Jesus had nowhere to lay his head because he spent his nights praying for the whole world in the open air. During the Passion his robe was torn and even at death he did not even have a sepulcher.

Our Divine Master tells us: "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven".
This means that if we are satisfied with everything we have in life, and resign ourselves to the dispositions of Divine Providence towards us, not clinging to or desiring inordinately the material goods, we will receive the reward of eternal life.

Il Infant Jesus of Prague grant us the grace of being poor in spirit to abound in the spiritual riches of eternity.

Let's pray…

O Holy Infant Jesus of Prague, look at us prostrate at Your feet, imploring Your blessing and Your help. We strongly believe in Your goodness, in Your love and in Your mercy. We also know that the more we honor you, the more you will bless us. Remember that You have told us to ask, to seek and to knock on the Door of Your Infinite Mercy. So it is with the utmost confidence that we kneel before You today. Teach us to ask what we can receive; show us how to search for what we find. Be happy to listen while we knock, O Divine Child Jesus, and open your loving Heart to our confident plea. Amen.

O Mary, Mother of God and our Immaculate Mother
Pray to Jesus for us.

Concluding prayer

O Holy Child Jesus, we thank you for all the sufferings you have endured in this world for us. At your birth, a humble crib was your cradle. Your whole life is spent among the poor and it is for them that your greatest miracles have been performed. O Prince of Peace, Redeemer of humanity, Son of God himself, we recommend our fervent supplications to you in this Novena.

(Mention here why you pray).

Teach us to be poor in spirit to receive the blessed reward you promised.

Enlighten our minds, strengthen our will and set our hearts on fire with your love. Amen.
