Today November 19th let us pray to Saint Faustus, martyr: his story

Today, Friday 19 November 2021, the Church commemorates St. Faustus.

the historian Eusebio, author of the famous "Ecclesiastical History", weaves this eulogy of St. Fausto: "He distinguished himself in confessing the faith ... and old, full of days and virtues, he consummated martyrdom by beheading in the Roman age".

San Fausto suffered a bloody death, which occurred during perhaps the bloodiest persecution, that of Diocletian, through which Fausto will testify to the faith in the Lord Jesus who died on the cross and risen. In the law of the Roman Empire, the refusal to worship the gods was severely punished, and trials for "atheism" were an occasion for Christians to publicly affirm their identity. As if martyrdom could bring them even closer to Jesus, making them more similar to their Master.

San Fausto lived in the XNUMXth century and, as mentioned, was a martyr under the Emperor Diocletian.

Prayer

O glorious Saint Faustus, who professed your faith in the best possible way, help us in times of difficulty and whenever we need it. Amen.
