Today, Wednesday 8 September, we celebrate one of the most important birthdays in the history of the world, that of Mother of our Lord.

And she, perhaps more than anyone else, besides her divine Son, rejoiced on her birthday for the deep spiritual gratitude he got from God for everything he did in his life.
Try to meditate on the heart and soul of our Blessed Mother from her perspective. She would be intimately united with every person of the Holy Trinity throughout her life. She would know God, living in her soul, and she would be in awe of what God had done to her. He would have meditated on these graces with profound humility and exceptional gratitude. He would see her soul and mission from God's perspective, deeply aware of everything he did for her.
As we honor our Blessed Mother's birthday, it is also an important opportunity for each of us to meditate on the incredible blessings God has bestowed on us. No, we are not Immaculate as Mother Mary was. Each of us was born in original sin and has sinned for life. But the blessings of grace given to each of us are exceptionally real.
Il baptism, for example, it gives the soul an eternal transformation. While our sin can sometimes cloud this transformation, it is eternal. Our souls have changed. We are made new. Grace is poured into our hearts and we become children of God. And for the soul that is able to perceive the countless other ways in which God bestows blessings, gratitude is the only appropriate response.
Reflect today on the glorious birthday celebration of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God. Begin by trying to enjoy her life through her eyes. Try to imagine what he saw as he looked into his pardoned soul. From there, try to rejoice in your soul as well. Be grateful for all that God has done for you.
