Fireball lights up the Norwegian sky (VIDEO)

Some opened their windows and doors because they felt a change in air pressure. A reporter from the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang (VG) described the meteor as a fireball in the air that lit up the entire sky. The light could be seen after XNUMX am (local time) in southern Norway, but also in Sweden. Experts believe that parts of the meteor landed west of the capital Oslo, in a forest.

The size of the meteor is not yet known but reports show it was quite large. Some assume that it weighs several tens of kilograms. According to VG, scientists believe the meteor came from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.

The Norwegian astronomer Vegard Rekaa told the BBC that his wife was awake at the time. He felt "shaking the air" before an explosion, thinking that something very heavy had fallen near the house. The scientist called what happened in Norway or anywhere else in the world "very rare".
