Pope Francis invites us to say this little prayer

Last Sunday, November 28, on the occasion of the Angelus prayer, Papa Francesco shared with all Catholics the little prayer for theAdvent who recommends us to act.

In commenting on the Gospel of St. Luke, the Holy Father underlined that Jesus announces "devastating events and tribulations", while "invites us not to be afraid". Not because “it will be all right,” he said, “but because it will come, he promised. Wait for the Lord ”.

The little prayer for Advent that Pope Francis invites us to say

This is why Pope Francis affirmed that "it is nice to hear this word of encouragement: rejoice and raise your head, because precisely in the moments when everything seems over, the Lord comes to save us" and wait for it with joy "- he said -" Even in in the midst of tribulations, in the crises of life and in the dramas of history ".

However, at the same time, he invited us to be vigilant and to be attentive. "From the words of Christ we see that vigilance is linked to attention: be attentive, do not get distracted, that is, keep watch", said the Holy Father.

The danger, warns Pope Francis, is that of becoming a "sleeping Christian" who lives "without spiritual enthusiasm, without ardor in prayer, without enthusiasm for the mission, without passion for the Gospel".

To avoid this and to keep the spirit centered on Christ, the Holy Father invites us to say this little prayer for Advent:

"Come, Lord Jesus. This time of preparation for Christmas is beautiful, let's think about winter, about Christmas and let's say with our hearts: Come Lord Jesus, come. Come Lord Jesus, it is a prayer that we can say three times, all together ”.
