Pope Francis was discharged from the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome

Papa Francesco he was discharged from the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome where he was hospitalized since Sunday 4 July. The Pope used his usual car to return to the Vatican.

Pope Francis spent 11 days at the Gemelli polyclinic in Rome where he was following a colon surgery.

The Pope left the hospital at 10.45 from the entrance on Via Trionfale and then arrived at the Vatican. Pope Francis got out of the car on foot to greet some soldiers before entering Santa Marta.

Yesterday afternoon, however, Pope Francis paid a visit to the nearby Department of Pediatric Oncology, located on the tenth floor of the Agostino Gemelli Polyclinic. This was announced by a bulletin from the Vatican press office. This is the Pope's second visit, during his stay at the Gemelli polyclinic, to the pediatric ward which houses some of the most fragile patients.

Pope Francis, on the evening of Sunday 4th July. on Sunday evening he underwent a surgical operation for diverticular stenosis of the sigmoid colon, which involved a left hemicolectomy and lasted about 3 hours.
