Pope John Paul II wrote positively about Medjugorje

On May 25 the website www.kath.net published a text which said: “The apparitions of Medjugorje were credible for the Pope, as can be seen from his private correspondence with the famous Polish journalist Marek Skwarnicki and his wife Zofia ". Merek and Zofia Skwarnicki published four letters written by the Pope himself on 30.03.1991, 28.05.1992, 8.12.1992 and 25.02.1994. These are the first documents written by John Paul II regarding Medjugorje to have been published. "I thank Zofia for all that is connected to Medjugorje," writes John Paul II in his letter dated 28.05.1992 "I am united with all those who pray there and from there receive the call to prayer. Today we understand this call better. " In his letter dated 25.02.1994, John Paul II writes about the war in the former Yugoslavia: “Now we can better understand Medjugorje. Now that we have before us the proportion of this great danger, we can better understand this maternal insistence ". Marek Skwarnicki, who has known Karol Wojtyla since 1958, is the editor of the Catholic weekly magazine "Tygodnik Powszechny" and the monthly magazine "Znak" which is published in Krakow. He is a member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and has been present on numerous trips by the Pope.
