“By the Grace of God”, a 7-year-old boy saves his father and little sister's life

Chase Poust he is only 7 years old but he is already a hero in Florida and even beyond the borders. In fact, the child saved his sister Abigail, 4 years old, and his father Steven, swimming for an hour in the current of the river Saint Johns.

The Poust family left for the river on May 28th. While the daddy fished, the children swam around the boat.

Suddenly, however, Abigail, who is wearing a life jacket, was about to be carried away by a strong current and her brother, realizing it in time, immediately got busy.

“The current was so strong that my sister got carried away. So I stepped away from the boat and grabbed it. Then I was taken away too ”.

As Abigail continued to drift, her father dived into the water, telling her son to swim to the mainland for help.

“I told them both that I love them because I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I tried to be with her as long as possible… I was exhausted and she moved away from me, ”said the parent.

Chase's mission was difficult. He alternated between moments of swimming and moments in which he let himself float on his back to rest. The father explained that "the current was going against the boat and the shore was very difficult to reach".

But, after an hour of fighting, the little boy reached the shore and ran to the nearest house. Thanks to this heroic deed, Steven and Abigail were saved.

The father, Steven, is proud of his “little man” and thanked God: “We are here. By the grace of God, we are here. Little man… he came ashore and got help, and that's what saved our lives ”.
