Why do we have to say the Rosary every day? Sister Lucia explains it to us

After having celebrated i 100 years of Fatima, why should we pray the Rosary every day, like the Madonna he recommended to the three children and to us?

Sister Lucia he gave an explanation in his book Call. First, he remembered that the call of the Madonna took place on May 13, 1917, when it first appeared to her.

The Virgin concluded her opening message with the recommendation to pray the Rosary every day to achieve world peace and an end to war (at that time, in fact, the First World War was being fought).

Sister Lucy, who left the earth on February 13, 2005, then mentioned the importance of prayer to receive Grace and overcome temptations: the Rosary, moreover, is an accessible prayer not only for the visionaries, who were then children, but also for the majority of the faithful.

Sister Lucy often asked her this question: “Why should Our Lady have told us to pray the Rosary every day instead of going to Mass every day?”.

“I cannot be absolutely sure of the answer: Our Lady never explained it to me and I never asked it - replied the seer - every interpretation of the Message belongs to the Holy Church. I humbly and willingly submit ”.

Sister Lucia said that God is a Father who “adapts to the needs and possibilities of his children. Now if God, through Our Lady, had asked us to go to Mass and receive Holy Communion every day, there would undoubtedly have been many people who would have said that it would not have been possible. Some, in fact, because of the distance that separates them from the nearest church where Mass is celebrated; others because of the circumstances of their life, their state of health, work, etc. ". Instead, praying the Rosary "is something that everyone can do, rich and poor, wise and ignorant, young and old ...".

And again: “All people of good will can and must pray the Rosary every day. Why? To get in touch with God, to thank him for His benefits and ask for the graces we need. It is prayer that puts us in familiar contact with God, like a son who goes to his father to thank him for the gifts he has received, to talk to him about his concerns, to receive his guidance, help, support and blessing ”.
