Why can't a Protestant take the Eucharist in a Catholic Church?

Have you ever wondered why the Protestants cannot receive theEucharist in a catholic church?

The young man Cameron Bertuzzi has a YouTube channel and podcast on Protestant Christianity and recently interviewed theCatholic Archbishop Robert Barron, auxiliary archbishop of the archdiocese of Los Angeles.

The prelate is very popular in the United States for his apostolate of evangelization and Catholic apologetics. And in this little video he gives an excellent answer on why Protestants cannot receive the Eucharist.

In an excerpt from the conversation, Bertuzzi asks the bishop: "When I go to mass, as a Protestant I cannot participate in the Eucharist, why?"

Bishop Barron promptly replies: "It is out of respect for you".

And again: “It is out of respect for you because I, as a Catholic priest, hold the transubstantiated host and say 'Body of Christ' and I am proposing to you what Catholics believe. And when you say 'Amen', you are saying 'I agree with this, I accept this'. I respect your unbelief and I will not put you in a situation where I say 'Body of Christ' and force you to say 'Amen' ”.

“So I see it differently. I don't think Catholics are inhospitable, I think it is Catholics who respect the unbelief of non-Catholics. I will not force you to say 'Amen' to something until you are ready. So I don't see it at all as aggressive or exclusive ”.

“I would like to take you to the fullness of Catholicism, that is, to the Mass. And what I most want to share with you is the Eucharist. The body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus, which is the full sign of his presence on earth. This is what I want to share with you, but if you are not ready yet, if you do not accept it, I will not put you in this situation ”.
