Pills of Faith January 29 "Follow the will of God"

The determination to follow the will of God in everything without exception is contained in the Sunday Prayer, in the words we say every day: "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven". In Heaven there is no resistance to the divine will, everything is subject to him and obeys him; We promise to Our Lord to do so, to never give him any resistance, to remain rather totally submissive to this divine will, in all circumstances. Now the will of God can be understood in two ways: there is the will of God meant and the will of God to be welcomed.

The meaning will has four parts: its commandments, its councils, the commandments of the Church and inspirations. For the commandments of God and the Church, everyone must bow their heads and submit to obedience, because there the will of God is absolute, he wants us to obey to be saved.

The advice, he wants us to observe them with desire, and not in an absolute way; since some are so opposed to each other that it would be absolutely impossible to practice one without stopping to practice the other. For example, there is a piece of advice to leave everything you have to follow Our Lord, free from everything; and there is a suggestion to lend and give alms: but tell me, who has given up everything he had, what will he be able to lend or how will he give, since he has nothing? We must therefore follow the advice that God wants us to follow, and not believe that he has given them so that we embrace them all.

There is also God's will to welcome, which we must see in all events, I mean in everything that happens: in illness, in death, in affliction, in consolation, in adverse and prosperous things, in short in all things that are not foreseen. And to this will of God, we must always be ready to submit in all situations, in pleasant as in unpleasant things, in affliction as in consolation, in death as in life, and in everything that is not manifestly against the will of God meant, since the latter always excels.
