Pills of Faith of 17 January "Restoring the image of God in man"

What is the use of being created if you do not know your Creator? How can men be "logical" if they do not know the Logos, the Word of the Father, in which they began to be? (Jn 1,1: 1,3) ... Why would God have made them if he had not wanted to be known by them? In order for this not to happen, in his goodness he makes them partakers of the one who is his own image, our Lord Jesus Christ (Heb 1,15: 1,26; Col XNUMX:XNUMX). He creates them in his image and likeness (Gen XNUMX:XNUMX). For this favor, they will know the image, the Word of the Father; for him they will be able to get an idea of the Father and, knowing the Creator, they will be able to live a life of true happiness.

But in their unreasonableness men despised this gift, turned to God and forgot it ... What then did God have to do if not to renew their "being according to the image", so that men could know him again? And how to do it, if not with the very presence of the image of God, our Savior Jesus Christ? Men could not do it; they are only made according to the image. Not even the angels could do it, since they too are not the image.

Thus the word of God himself came, he who is the image of the Father, to restore "being according to the image" of men. After all, this could not have happened if death and corruption had not been annihilated. that is why he rightly took a mortal body to annihilate death within himself and restore men according to the image.
