Pills of faith December 22 "Maria gave thanks to the Lord"

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
"Mary gave thanks to the Lord"
Mary's Magnificat - a portrait, so to speak, of her soul - is entirely woven with threads of Sacred Scripture, threads taken from the Word of God. Thus it is revealed that she is truly at home in the Word of God, she comes out of it and re-enters it naturally. She speaks and thinks with the Word of God; the Word of God becomes his word, and his word is born from the Word of God. Thus it is also revealed that his thoughts are in harmony with the thoughts of God, that his will is a will together with God. Being intimately penetrated by the Word of God, she can become mother of the incarnate Word.

Finally, Maria is a woman who loves. How could it be otherwise? As a believer who in faith thinks with the thoughts of God and wants with the will of God, she can only be a woman who loves. We perceive it in the silent gestures, of which the Gospel stories of childhood refer to us. We see it in the delicacy with which in Cana she perceives the need in which the spouses are and presents it to Jesus. We see it in the humility with which she accepts to be neglected in the period of the public life of Jesus, knowing that the Son must found a new family and that the hour of the Mother will arrive only in the moment of the cross ... In the hour of Pentecost, they will gather around her in anticipation of the Holy Spirit (cf. Acts 1:14).

GIACULATORIA OF THE DAY

Baby Jesus forgive me, baby Jesus bless me.

PRAYER OF THE DAY
Lord Jesus, let me know who you are. It makes my heart feel the holiness that is in you.
Arrange for me to see the glory of your face.

From your being and your word, from your acting and your design, let me derive the certainty that truth and love are within my reach to save me.

You are the way, the truth and the life. You are the principle of the new creation.

Give me the courage to dare. Make me aware of my need for conversation, and allow it to take it seriously, in the reality of everyday life.

And if I recognize myself, unworthy and sinner, give me your mercy. Give me the loyalty that persists and the trust that always begins, every time everything seems to fail
