Pills of Faith December 27 "Saint John, the beloved disciple"

MEDITATION OF THE DAY
It is right and it is good that the one who has been loved by Christ more than all mortals is the object of a particular love from the friends of Christ, especially since John has shown so much love for us to share with us ... riches of eternal life which he himself had received. In fact, the keys of wisdom and knowledge had been given to him by God (Lk 11,52) ...

The spirit of John illuminated by God reached the incomparable height of divine wisdom when at the Last Supper he rested on the breast of the Redeemer (Jn 13,25:2,3). And since in the heart of Jesus "all the treasures of wisdom and science are hidden" (Col 1,1), it is there that he drew and from there he greatly enriched our misery of the poor and distributed his goods with breadth taken from the source of the salvation of the whole world. In fact, Blessed John speaks of God in a wonderful way that cannot be compared with anyone else among mortals, for this reason both the Greeks and the Latins have rightly given him the name of Theologian. Mary is the "Theotokos", that is, the "Mother of God" because she truly gave birth to God, John is the "Theologian" because he saw in an impossible way to describe that the Word of God was with God before all centuries and who was God (Jn XNUMX: XNUMX) and also because he told it with extraordinary depth.

GIACULATORIA OF THE DAY
Lord, pour out on the whole world the treasures of your infinite Mercy.

PRAYER OF THE DAY
My father, I abandon myself to you:
do with me what you will like.
Whatever you do, I thank you.
I am ready for anything, I accept everything,
as long as your will is done in me, in all your creatures.
I don't want anything else, my God.
I put my soul back in your hands.
O God, I give it to you with all the love of my heart,

because I love you and it is a need of love for me to give myself,

to put myself without measure in your hands,
with infinite trust, because you are my Father.
