PRAYER TO THE HOLY APOSTLES PETER AND PAUL to ask for a grace

O Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, I do not elect you today and forever as mine
special protectors and lawyers, and I humbly rejoice, so much with you, O San Pietro
Prince of the Apostles, because you are that stone on which God built his Church,
who with you, o Saint Paul, chosen by God as the vessel of choice and preacher of the truth,
and please obtain my living faith, firm hope and perfect charity, total detachment from
myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity and humility in prosperity,
attention in prayer, purity of heart, right intention in working,
diligence in fulfilling the obligations of my state, constancy in the proposals,
resignation to the will of God, and perseverance in divine grace until death.
And so, through your intercession, and your glorious merits, overcome temptations
of the world, of the devil and of the flesh, be made worthy to come before the presence
of the supreme and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, who
with the Father and with the Holy Spirit he lives and reigns over the centuries, to enjoy it
and love him eternally. So be it. Pater, Ave and Gloria.
