Prayer to the Father, inspired by Jesus' father on earth, Saint Joseph

Pope Francis turns to God, remembering that he had entrusted the most precious thing he had to Joseph's protection ...
Many popes have referred to the Holy Family fleeing to Egypt in reference to the Church's care for refugees, immigrants and all displaced persons.

For example, Pope Pius XII in 1952 wrote:

The Holy Family emigrant of Nazareth, fleeing to Egypt, is the archetype of every family of refugees. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, who live in exile in Egypt to escape the fury of an evil king, are, for all times and in all places, models and protectors of every migrant, foreigner and refugee of any kind who, driven by the fear persecution or necessity, he is forced to leave his homeland, his beloved parents and relatives, his close friends, and to seek a foreign land.
In his Message for World Day of Migrants and Refugees 2020, Pope Francis concluded with a prayer to the Father, inspired by the example of the life of Saint Joseph.

In this Year of Saint Joseph, especially since so many face economic uncertainty, it is a beautiful prayer to consider:

I would like to conclude with a prayer suggested by the example of Saint Joseph at the time when he was forced to flee to Egypt to save the baby Jesus.

Father, you have entrusted to Saint Joseph what you had most precious: the baby Jesus and his Mother, to protect them from the dangers and threats of the wicked. Grant that we can experience his protection and help. May he, who shared the sufferings of those fleeing the hatred of the powerful, console and protect all our brothers and sisters driven by war, poverty and the need to leave their homes and lands to leave as refugees for safer places. Help them, through the intercession of St. Joseph, to find the strength to persevere, console them in pain and courageous in trials. Grant to those who welcome them a little of the tender love of this just and wise father, who loved Jesus as a true son and supported Mary every step of the way. May he, who earned his bread with the work of his hands , watch over those who in life have seen everything taken away and obtain for them the dignity of a job and the serenity of a home. We ask you for Jesus Christ, your Son, whom Saint Joseph saved by fleeing to Egypt, and trusting in the intercession of the Virgin Mary, whom he loved as a faithful husband according to your will. Amen.
