Saint Ambrose's Prayer: Devotion to Jesus Christ!

Prayer of St. Ambrose: Lord Jesus Christ, I approach your banquet with fear and trembling, because I am a sinner and I do not dare to rely on my value, but only on your goodness and mercy. I am tainted with many sins in body and soul, and with my unattended thoughts and words. Gracious God of majesty and awe, I seek your protection,
I seek your healing. Poor tormented sinner who are, I appeal to you, the source of all mercy. I cannot bear your judgment, but I trust in your salvation.

Lord, I show you my wounds and discover my shame in front of you. I know that my sins are many and great and they fill me with fear, but I hope in your mercy, as they cannot be numbered. Lord Jesus Christ, eternal king, God and man, crucified for humanity, look at me with mercy and listen to my prayer, because I trust you. Have mercy on me, full of pain and sin, for the depth of your compassion never ends.

Praise to you, saving sacrifice, offered on the wood of the cross for me and for all humanity. Praise to the noble and precious blood that flows from the wounds of my crucifix Lord Jesus Christ and wash away the sins of the whole world. Remember, Lord, your creature, that you redeemed with your blood; I repent of my sins, and I want to make up for what I have done. Merciful Father, take away all my offenses and sins; purify me in body and soul and make me worthy to savor the holy of holies.

May your body and your blood, which I intend to receive, even if I am unworthy, be for me the remission of my sins, the washing away of my sins, the end of my evil thoughts and the rebirth of my best instincts.
May you urge me to do the works that are pleasing to you and beneficial to my health in the body e in the soul, and be a firm defense against the snares of my enemies. This was the prayer that St. Ambrose dedicated to the Lord! I hope you enjoyed it.
