Prayer in difficulties, trial and despair

Prayer in life's difficulties
O almighty and merciful God,
refreshment in fatigue, support in pain, comfort in tears,
listen to the prayer, which conscious of our faults, we address to you:
save us from present distress
and give us a safe refuge in your mercy.
For Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Almighty and merciful father,
look at our painful condition:
comfort your children and open our hearts to hope,
because we feel your presence as a father among us.
For Christ our Lord.
Amen.

O Lord, now that pain, sadness and trepidation
weigh on my heart, guide me -with the clarity of faith-
to find help and comfort in you.
May the Holy Spirit maintain the certainty of being your son in me
helping me to accept all events from your hand.
Persuade me that You, Father, make them serve my good and,
respecting human freedom, you always derive good from evil.
Let me find an answer in the certainty of your love
to those questions that go beyond human wisdom.
I can feel, on my painful path,
your sure step that won't abandon me.
I believe in You, O Lord, because you are the truth.
I hope in you because you are faithful.
I love you because you are good.

Prayer on the test days
O my Jesus,
support me when the days come
heavy and difficult,
the days of trial and struggle,
when suffering and fatigue
they can begin to oppress
my body and but my soul.

Support me Jesus,
and give me the strength to endure
sufferings and contrarieties.

Put a sentry on my lips,
why don't you go out
no word of complaint
towards your creatures.

All my hope
it is your Merciful Heart.
My only defense
it is your Mercy.
All my trust lies in it.

Amen.

Prayer in despair
Lord, I have a soul full of bitterness
and risk being overwhelmed
from despair.
Give me the strength to accept
this suffering that makes me participate
of your passion and your pain.

And if in an instant of weakness
a gesture of revolt should escape me,
protesting my innocence,
remind me, O Lord, that you yourself,
while being infinitely good,
you have been crucified.

Renew my courage
to deal with what I reserve
the mysterious law of pain,
that day after day
it is restoring in the world
the strength to live and hope
