Prayer of Pope Francis to ask for a grace from Jesus Christ

This prayer is from Pope Francis and it is recommended to recite it when you want to ask Jesus for a grace.

"Lord Jesus Christ,
you taught us to be merciful like Heavenly Father,
and they told us that whoever sees you sees Him.

Show us your face and we will be saved.

Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from the slavery of money; the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things; he made Peter weep for his betrayal, and secured paradise for the repentant thief.

Let us listen, as addressed to each of us, to the words you addressed to the Samaritan woman: "If you only knew the gift of God!".

You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of God who manifests his power above all in forgiveness and mercy: may the Church be your visible face in the world, his risen and glorified Lord.

You also wanted your ministers to dress in weakness so that they feel compassion for those in ignorance and error: anyone who approaches them feels sought, loved and forgiven by God.

Send your Spirit and consecrate each of us with his anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, bring good news to the poor, proclaim freedom to prisoners and to oppressed and give sight to the blind.

We ask you through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy,
you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
