Promise of St. Benedict to his devotees:
St. Benedict is invoked to obtain a good death and eternal salvation. He appeared one day in S. Geltrude, saying: "Anyone who will remind me of the dignity for which the Lord wanted to honor and beatify me, allowing me to make such a glorious death, I will faithfully assist him on his deathbed and will oppose all attacks of the enemy in that decisive hour.
