Prayer to San Giovanni Leonardi to be recited today to ask for his help

Oh! San Giovanni Leonardi, living witness of supreme charity
and of total acceptance of God's plan,
to the point that you could well repeat with St. Paul that your life was Christ
and that He lived in you, intercede for us, from the Father of lights,
the divine wisdom of knowing how to read,
in all pages of our daily experience,
even in the most difficult and painful ones
the traits and signs of a providential project of love conceived from eternity.
You who did not hesitate in the face of the prophetic denunciation of the error
and you offered a whole life for man to recover his full stature in Christ,
let us be granted the gift of truth
which makes us available to the path of continuous revision
of our being and our work to make it every day
more in conformity with the image of the Son.
Your being Church was expressed above all in the urgency of the announcement:
from catechesis to children, to the reform of consecrated souls,
from the planning of a vast and renewed missionary nature,
to the living language of an entire existence devoted to the most radical evangelical choice.
Obtain for all of us the effective grace of experiencing our baptism
as a coherent testimony of a faith to live and participate in,
in union with the brothers, so that the fullness of love may be realized in the home of the one Father.
